Mar-07-02, 03:07 AM (EST) "Basic Locomotive and rolling stock models?" I have tried my hand at trying to "build" things in 3DS Max but it didn't work out too well for me, I tried a few thing for train sim but I just did a few reskins. Bout the only thing I can do good with that program is special effects, lighting, ect. to make realistic looking scenes, they aren't the best but I'm getting better. I have a couple of problems though, I want to make scenes with trains but can't find any blank models worth a crap anywhere accept what you guys make. The only thing I have I can use so far is just the defualt Dash 9 that I found in the samples folder in train sim. So what I'm wanting to ask, is could some of you allow me to borrow a few of your models. I'm not going to add anything, or try to realse it as something else saying its mine. I just want to use the models to make pictures with. I would greatly appreciate anyone willing to let me use their models. I'll take basically anything (I prefer modern US freight) textured or untextured. I'm not really all that good at texturing complex models though, but I'm learning. Thanks! This picture isn't related at all to train sim or trains but it's an example of what I'm talking about doing with the models, except instead of something like this it'll be trains.

I have gotten good at modeling and texturing in Max, but I don't know the first thing about the other capabilities of the program. Max is a powerful tool and low poly game modeling just scratches the surface of it's abilities. That said, I'd be happy to send you what I have made. It's not much compared to some of the other talented creators here, just 4 freight cars, but if someone will donate a loco, you would have a decent train Send me an email to sxdesigns@rcn.com and I'll reply with some zips of my max files and the textures in bmp and tga form. All I ask in return is to see the results of your work. The water filled mine you posted is excellent.Cliff Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
