Feb-22-02, 06:13 PM (EST) "TSM Locomotive position problem!" Hi!
I already created some models, but this is the first I'm trying to convert as a loco to MSTS.
Everthing is aligned to the same axis as the sample TSM projects, bogies & wheels named correctly, wheels taken from the loco coming with TSM (Class 66).The model looks right in the solid view, but when converted, the position is very strange and the wheels are in a completely different place or can't even be seen.I used the Acela .eng file, just changing filenames.By the way: the image of the MSTS window doesn't show, that it's turned 180° to what it should be!
Message Areas - "TSM Locomotive position problem!" – image 1That's what it looks like when imported as an ordinary track object:

The bogie boxes I generated myself are on the correct spot. Thanks for your help!Greetings,

Feb-22-02, 06:17 PM (EST) 1. "RE: TSM Locomotive position problem!" Is the loco centered in the horizontal plane? And are the weels resting at the 0.0 coords? Have you reset axis origins for wheels and bogies? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-22-02, 08:55 PM (EST) 2. "RE: TSM Locomotive position problem!" Hi!
Yes, as you can see in the picture, the wheels are on 0,0 axis...Now I centered the axis of every part to origin. Now it looks a bit "better":
The bogies are correct on the rails, the body is strange, the wheels behave like one big wheel (by the way, parent objects are also set correctly main->bogie1/2->wheels11/12/21/22)!! Message Areas - "TSM Locomotive position problem!" – image 3 Greetings,

Feb-23-02, 08:59 AM (EST) 5. "RE: TSM Locomotive position problem!" The wheels should have their axis orientation reset to object, not to origin. Very nice train, btw. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-23-02, 12:55 PM (EST) 6. "RE: TSM Locomotive position problem!" Thanks all!
Already got it:
Body: axis to origin
Wheels, Bogies: axis to objectPlus: it's a bad idea to flip the body instead of rotating it!Message Areas - "TSM Locomotive position problem!" – image 4Get ready for some more locos soon!Greetings,
