Feb-18-02, 05:23 PM (EST) "Problems while converting from .3ds to .s" Hi, I am new at using 3ds Max 4, and after making the tutorials from Train artisan, I started to work in an auto-carrier and a tanker wagons. Here they are:
I am having some problems while converting these models with the conv3ds.exe file, and I already got the update.Problem 1 - When I converted the auto-carrier, ther was this message in the DOS window: "while reading level of detail 1 from 'sekss2000.3ds' Untextured nodes/shapes are not supported."Problem 2 - When I converted the tanker I got this: "While reading level of detail 1 from 'zaes2000.3ds" Animation hierarchy contains multiple root nodes."Has for the first... if that means I have not assigned textures to some part of the model... I am pretty sure I did... but then again.... i am new at this... Abot the second problem.... I do not have a clue at what it means...I so much apreciated any help that anyone can give me... If necessary I will extend access to the max files...These wagons are for a project I created called "CPVirtual". It's going to be a virtual railroad and these wagons were going to be the first rolling stock of it... and if these were sucessfull I would then jump to making two locomotives... a whitecomb and an EuroSprinter. Thanks for any help that anyone can give me Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Problems while converting from .3ds to .s" hi, the first one means there is an object in your model with out a material assigned. the second means you have incorrectly built your hierarchy -See the tech docs, but in short all your parts must be subparts of a main part. your wagons look good. john
