Feb-13-02, 08:50 PM (EST) "Cpt. Bazza" I was wondering if you could do something for me:Could you rotate your ship models 90Deg to the East (so the bow is aligned with the center of the rails)...The screen shot shows what I get when i make the ship into a train, (it is just pointing to the West in the pic instead of the bow pointing north).
This was somebody elses idea I think anyway. If you can do this, somebody could make a route with some rails underwater, and we could drive a ship...Those are great sips by the wayThanks

Feb-14-02, 06:23 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Cpt. Bazza" Yes, I know what you mean. When I made the model I didn't worry about how I oriented it in Max, because it was meant as a scenery model and could be rotated okay in the route editor. When making an object such as a loco you orient the model in Max, so it is pointing in the right direction for travelling along the track. (Nose forward.)Correcting that now is not easy, usually Max has a fit because you have to reorient all the pivot points on the main and linked objects, something that in theory is simple, but one mistake leads to insanity.I might give it a go...........

Feb-15-02, 11:19 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Cpt. Bazza" SWEET!! I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT!! We need a ship yard now!You could try using AutoCAD to rotate the model, there is a trick that I know that will make it work perfectly. Then all you have to do (after rotating) is import the model back into MAX and then save the model...
