Feb-09-02, 10:08 AM (EST) "A Challenge" Friends of the Motive Power group---I usually post in the Route Design forum, cause most of my efforts are in that area, and I am not a very good artist of the quality of many of you anyway. One of the most fascinating railroad stretches in the US to me, has always been the Milwaukee Road line over St.Paul pass, between Avery, ID, and Alberton, MT, about 120 miles more or less. It was electrified, it was well-engineered, perhaps the best in the area considering the terrain, but it passed into oblivion because it should never have been built in the first place. It was also, almost in-accessible unless you liked to hike long distances, so there are not many pictures of the line, especially at the higher elevation.Through a friend, I have received a track chart (curves & grades) of the line, and it is also, still in the marker file, as well as well indicated on topo maps.My plan is to create the basic line, with track, Demmed scenery, tunnels & bridges, and then send it, via CD/R to someone with a fast internet link to upload to the group.Could someone consider creating three items to support this.1 - A "Little Joe" electric locomotive
2 - A Milwaukee Road Box-Cab electric locomotive
3 - A distinctive Milwaukee Road Caboose. There are a number of Milwaukee Road web-sites where details can be found.J. H. Sullivan, P.E. (retired from CSX) Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Besides growing up and living for most of my life along various parts of the Electrified NEC I always liked the GN electrics... Brutal Tough Powerfull Units....------Chuck Schneider---------

Feb-09-02, 05:13 PM (EST) 2. "RE: A Challenge" I'm working on simple juice jacks to learn the fundamentals. But, little Joes, Bi-Polars and main line stuff is on my agenda. Just not too soon. However, if somebody was to model the route.... I'd probably move them up my list. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
