Feb-08-02, 06:37 AM (EST) "Tank engines , IsTenderRequired variable" Hi,
I'm building several small tank engines (ie those without tender ). Probably You all know, that there is a problem with IsTenderRequired variable. There are several possible settings and results if tender is not attached: IsTenderRequired ( 1 ): water counter does not work, coal counter does not work, no tender - no resources, of course.
IsTenderRequired ( 0 ): water counter works, but coal counter still does not, You can't rise the fire mass. This is a bug.
IsTenderRequired ( -1 ): all counters work, everything OK, this is the correct setting for tank engines.
Maybe I have just discovered America, maybe it helps Another little bug (?):
My models are very small locos (max. speed ~ 25mph, max. power < 200kW). ENG and SMS files should be exactly tuned up to avoid unreal behavior. And every mistake can be seen easily.
Comparing the Track monitor, .sms file and sound of the loco, it seems to me, that engine sounds (chuffs) based on Speed variable are changed later (at higher speed) then they should according to .sms. The difference (delay) seems to rise with speed. On the other hand running in reverse (using front coupler ) is OK, sound samples are changed exactly as programmed in .sms.Nice running in reverseC.W.
