Feb-06-02, 09:08 AM (EST) "Emergency Brake" I searched this forum for a clue how the emergency Brake worked but couldn't find it, therefore this question:How does the emergency brake work? I have some loco's, one of them is our own HLR8262, which won't move after the emergency brake has been applied. Can somebody tell me how it works or point me to the right direction (links/docs).Thanks,André

"RE: Emergency Brake" LAST EDITED ON Feb-06-02 AT 09:32 AM (EST)The emergency brake releases the air from the train line appling all brakes on the rolling stock, like slamming the brakes on in you car and not releasing them until you come to a complete stop no mqtter how far you are sliding. In MSTS in the .eng file you will see the lines: EngineBrakesControllerEmergencyBrakeTimePenalty( 60 )
TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyBrakeTimePenalty( 60 )
EngineBrakesControllerFullServicePressureDrop( 26 )
TrainBrakesControllerFullServicePressureDrop( 26 )The first two line give you a 60 second penalty or delay before you can do anything.Clicked on your web site link. Very nice, well organized, especially the link to download the equipment needed for the activity.Kevin Arceneaux Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

>Kevin Arceneaux Thanks Kevin,We used all 4 lines in our ENG file but it will not move after.I used the following process:
- Press emergency brake
- Bring back throttle to 0
- Release all breakes
- Reverser to neutral
- Wait some time untill the pressure is in the original condition.
- Press "Z"
- Put Reverser at forward
- Throttle to 13%How long i wait doesn't matter, it still won't move Glad you like the website. MSTrainstop worked quite hard on it.
