Feb-05-02, 02:49 PM (EST) "Trains for the SVRR?" Howdy.I've recently started the construction of a short Branch line route named the "Spring Valley Railroad." As it is only a short 4KM route aprox. there is only one haulier, SVRR. SVRR are planned to own two trains; one for the twice-a-day passenger service, and one for the daily freight runs. The point of this post? I was wondering whether you could advise me of any American diesels that have been modelled for MSTS which would be good for my branch line. I need (as stated above) one for freight and one for passenger service. As neither services use very long consists, the loco's needn't be too powerful.Any suggestions?Cheers,

Feb-05-02, 03:01 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Trains for the SVRR?" I'd get either a RS or a SW switcher or two. On small routes the company wouldn't want to pay big money for something they didn't need. Other suggestions would be an SD9 and maybe a GP38 or SD40. Those would be at the high end of the spectrum you'd want to have on a short line. No SD90MAC's or Dash9's. If it's electrified, a steeple cab electric would be fine. The beauty part is, you can download any road name you want, because many (if not most) short lines buy their units from bigger railroads at auction. If it were me, I'd get an old dirty one. That's my suggestion, but since it's your route, do what makes you happy!Blake Harris
