Feb-04-02, 03:50 PM (EST) "Disappearing Wheels on LNER A4..." I like these locos a lot, but there appears to be a flaw left on them. As long as the loco stays stationary on beginning an activity, all is well, but as soon as she starts moving the tender wheels suddenly disappear.
Anybody else have this problem (or even know of a fix)?Thanks!!D.M.

Hi which loco Mallard , Sir Nigel Gresley, Silver Link, I built tenders for all but Sir Nigel that loco uses a reskinned scotsman Tender. If its the Mallard is it the 1st version or the second. I have not heard from anyone about the tender wheels and have had probably over 2000 downloads combined.I have not noticed any of them doing it on my machine but that doesnt mean they dont.Peter Harvey Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

LAST EDITED ON Feb-05-02 AT 06:21 AM (EST)I have the version 2 Mallard as well as the V 2 Gresley, but the the Union of South Africa is still V 1 (according to the Readme files). Downloaded the Union only this morning from UKTrainsim, but she, too, has "invisible" tender wheels.
My system specs:Athlon 1400 (not O/C) on ASUS A7V133 Mobo
512 MB PC-133 RAM
Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64 MB AGP vid card (probably to be replaced by GF3 Ti 200 or Radeon 8500 in a few weeks)I'm having no display problems of any kind in TS with this card, that's why I'm wondering...

Sorry still not clear does Sir Nigel have disappering wheels as well as this is the reskinned scotsman tender, try putting the scotman tender behind any of the A4s. Let me know if the wheels disappear on that.I just checked my trainsim and the wheels are fine.Celeron 700

Could you try one thing for me because im not sure if the loco is causing your texture problem, this sounds strange but when I was creating the A4s and putting the scotsman tender on the back it would just blur the textures. Could you couple the 60009 or silver link or mallard tender to the flying scotsman and tell me if the wheels disappear. I am at a loss at the moment to understand why the wheels disappear I suspect the transperancy map. The best I can do for you is to reskin the scotsman tender in these colours that will mean you will have all but 2 colours in these models if I make more A4s in the other colours I will update them for you.
