Our spy managed to get these pics of a new engine nearing completion early this morning. Our spy was later captured before he could get out pics and info on two other engines this new developer is working on. The only things we know about them are as follows: one is a 4 wheeled switcher but not like the one you see here. The other is a 4 wheeled steam switcher. The only other things we know about them are they are 50% complete. This engine is rumored to be released tomorrow. According to our spy he said it just needs a few more parts and some retexturing until it's completion.lol. This little puppy should be uploaded tomorrow. Anybody know what it is? I have one for my HO layout but I never knew what it was. I bought it at a garage sale 8 years ago never knowing what it was. All I know is that it came in a GIJOE scheme set. I have the whole set. If anybody knows please let me know. It's driving ME nuts.lol. Enjoy the pics. and please tell me what you think of it. Should make a nice addition to even the smallest of collectors here on the site.Message Areas - "Spy Photos. Engine nearing completion" – image 1

Except the hood isn't high enough, there was only about 6 inches between the top of the hood and the top of the cab and there should be louvers on each acess door to the engine. But the windows give it away.Porters and Plymoths had 2 windows and there small ones had ridig frames, no trucks.Kevin Arceneaux Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

The doors are on the sides of the loco just above the steps. I used Mark Toland's SW1500 textures so I have to put the door on the sides rather than the front and back. Also the smokestack is a small oval shape ( which I changed this morning ) not the circular shape you see here. Additionally I think the cab area is supposed to be slightly longer. It didn't look good longer so I shortened it by 2 feet. Where the trucks are is supposed to be just a bar going across the sides that the wheels are attached to. Kinda like a "rigid frame" look. The trucks do not turn. They are rigid to the frame. The cab and nose height is correct actually. Judging by the prototype anyway. Also a few updates on the loco. 1) She will not be ready for a few more days. I'm running into a few "bugs" with the textures and lenght of the loco in the sim. In short the hood textures are sideways and the cars couple too far into the engine and not on the coupler. 2) I changed the coupler height to be inline with all the locos, cars, etc. 3) I fixed the wheel rotation problem but the wheels aren't lined up properly. i.e. They look a bit wobbly. 4) I changed the smokestack to be more to the prototype which is an oval shape. Here is a list of what I would like to add but maybe in a future version. 1) An inside fully detailed passenger view ( like the SW1200 has ). 2) Put the proper bar going across the sides where the trucks are as that is what the prototype has. 3) Make the textures better. Currently the textures are spread out over 6 ace files. Euston you may be right. this could very well be a fictisous loco or it could be a UK model that was used with an american fictisous paint scheme. I am talking to a few friends in the UK to find out what it might be as well as a few here in the US but currently noone knows what the heck it is. Does anybody know what it is or have one of these for their HO layout? Craig Shortino Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
