#61 also uses 18C tender... I hope you don't mind !!
Eng file not at all right, but I added the most important facts.

However, I read somewhere that they could achieve 12,000 (tons? pounds?) pulling power at speeds under 20mph. Any higher and the traction moters tended to melt. Horsepower doesn't necessarily mean strength. Tractive effort is the true show of strength. Don't know about the Veranda, but what he said is true for the Big Blow. We'll need to relocate the smoke plume on the B unit towards the aft end...shouldn't be a problem, though.D.M.

Those a awesome machines! How did your engine files turn out? Are they pretty powerful? I've searched the web high and low, but was unable to find tech specs in regards to tractive effort, etc. for these beasts.Grizzly

"RE: Turbine's tractive effort figures" A book I have* mentions some figures for the UP 8,500HP turbine units: Max geared speed 66mph, driving wheels 3ft 4in diameter, starting tractive effort 240,000 lb, continuous tractive effort at 18mph is 145,000 lb.Hope these figures help. A very elegant looking model, nice work!*Source: New Horizon Books - The Concise Encylopedia of World Railway Locomotives, Edited by P. Ransome-Wallis, published Hutchison of London, first edition 1959. A real treasure trove of information!!! If you can find it, buy it!!! Mine's not for sale.
