"RE: Rock Island" I was just wondering if the Rock Island still exists ---yes it still exists in the hearts and minds of employees, modelers, and MSTS skinnersbut if you mean actually operating trains on real track...then to use a Star Treck phrase.."He's dead Jim"It last operated trains on March 30th 1980......and as I recall reading someware, after they paid off debts from closedown they had enough cash to purchase HOOVER Vacume Cleaners, and then the entire former RockIsland buch of stuff was aquired by MAYTAG (clothes washers/dryers).....so in fact it is still aliveas for you pic question
the three Rock Island major websites you will need
http://www.rockisl.com/ ---- go to the paint schemes section
http://www.dnaco.net/~gelwood/other/ri.html ---- George Elwood collection of pics
http://storm.simpson.edu/~RITS/ --- not much in the way of pictures at the Rock Island Tech Society, but does have good reading material
hope that helps
nice dealie thing under your nameMatt
