Jan-12-02, 00:23 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Problems with cab editor" Before you go to the cab editor you must first have the forward cab view file made (640 X 480).It must be a TGA file with Alfa channel. Create your new cab view ( 640X480) on a (1024X1024) pallet, placing the image in the upper left hand corner.
You will need the latest version of MAKEACE to convert the TGA file into an ACE file using the “size” argument. makeace mycabFRNT.tga mycabFRNT.ace –trans -bmp -width:640 -height:480You make a folder named \cabview under the folder of your loco and place your new cabview file there. Name it mycabFRNT.aceNow you need to do the same thing, except at (1024X786). The cab editor will use the (640X480) image, but most computers will try and find the higher resolution file if it can handle it. It finds it by looking for a file of the same name with 1024 appended to it.
Like mycabFRNT1024.ace
Once you have the odd size ACE file made TGATOOL2 can open the ACE file , send it to the editor, retrieve it and then export it to the original odd size formatted ACE file. You can also use TGATOOL2 to hijack an ace file of odd size. Open the file you plan to hijack with TGATOOL2 and send it to the editor. Copy your image over the top of the original. Flatten all layers then save. Reload the file to TGATOOL2 and export as an ACE with Alfa channel, to the name of your new cab view file.
