Jan-08-02, 05:52 PM (EST) 3. "RE: F40PH (Amtrak) almost ready" Thank...you...so...much!That engine is my "baby", and my mouth has been watering for months. Dunno what happened to the other one, but it'll be nice to have that monster. Also, hopefully nobody will modify them into "cabbage" cars for the game. Breaks my heart to see pics of what Amtrak did to them. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-09-02, 03:09 AM (EST) 7. "RE: F40PH (Amtrak) almost ready" People!
This guy has a great goal - More Amtrak! WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!! I am excited as well. However its not the most prototypical F40 I've seen in my days(I doubt I could do any better though). The horns are totally way too big and just messed up, and the lower part of the loco is disproportional to the upper half.
I think getting a loco right is a really time consuming thing... Maybe thats part of the delay for the other F40 that was originally announced. Oh yeah I did get confirmation that it will be appearing. Those guys didnt fall off the face of the earth just yet (though it seems like it I know!). I think the ETA is for sometime around Valentines day.
Just like with my model layout, I want locos looking like the real thing instead of toys running around. Call me a perfectionist, but I think there are better things to come. We have already been told the original MSTS F40 that has been in the works forever now has all new actual F40 sounds that were digitally recorded! I think its gonna be a blast! Life-Like's are better than nothing to play with until you get the Overlands!

Jan-20-02, 03:50 PM (EST) 19. "RE: F40PH (Amtrak) almost ready" Hello Jens ChrisAre you interested in repainting the engine? I could probably send you pictures and more info if you would like.
Fell free to email me at nlyon78@hotmail.comHere are quick answers to your questions.
The engine numbers are
AMTK #242
AMTK #283
AMTK #289
They are reworked F40PH's used just for the Ski trainAs far as the passenger cars go, yes they are smooth sided.
BTW... Your Turbine is AWESOME!!!! Nick
(i thought I would use this logo too)

Now,This is what we are talking about. Gaeten Belanger ( VIA coach author ) has been VERY hard at work as well.It is a VERY nice looking unit. I will have the lights on it and back to him very soon.Tim Kent

Jan-22-02, 07:36 PM (EST) 23. "RE: F40PH (Amtrak) almost ready" Hi,
the last two weeks I improved the F40PH loco. Now I'm ready to
upload the files. I 'll wait for Chris Lee's eng-file only.
He promised me, that nevertheless of no much spare time he will
make this file for me.Look at the following pictures, which I took on my sons PC, which
has a much better graphic card then mine. Here are some pictures token at the route from Wilmington to
Philadelphia...

BTW the new rails from Don Shriner look phantastic.
The last improvement (but the picture from my old PC).
There is an engineer in the cab ...
I plan to create an engine for Metra also. I saw on the pictures
that these locos are slightly different from those of Amtrak
( i.e the backside !).God bless America
