Jan-09-02, 08:17 PM (EST) 9. "RE: RS18 Cabview" Hi Dennis. I'm very pleased you're working on the RS18. One thing is that the nose of the RS18 (at least on the CP version) is curved around the front vs. square. I emailed a bunch of photos about a month ago including a close-up front view. I'd post it here but I don't know how.Once again, thanks for doing Canadian Alcos!

Jan-10-02, 07:29 AM (EST) 10. "RE: RS18 Cabview" Hi fusibou, I'm not sure if I get the right meaning, but the nose is curved as you can see in a closer
look.I am also aware on the nosewheel, only a good looking wheel ask alot curved meshes. MSTS doesn't
like it at all when it has to deal with many round object at one spot. The result was it would pass the
compiler, but the sim will hang as soon you rotate around the wheel in the sim.Feel free to comment me on this Dennis van Tergouw

Jan-10-02, 11:22 PM (EST) 11. "RE: RS18 Cabview" DenisI meant the other end - the orange short hood is curved rather than squared. Your picture looks like the short hood is very square at the end. CP ran their units short hood forward.I don't know how well it will run, if at all, but there is an RS-11 posted in this area with all the right curves and the nose wheel. Thanks for the quick reply.Dave Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-11-02, 11:21 PM (EST) 13. "RE: RS18 Cabview" It's really quite nice. I think the short hood may be too long though. The railing has two stanchions going from the cab to the end. The second stanchion should be at the steps. I think the extension of railing (and short hood) you have after that second stanchion is not meant to add to length, but go into the stairwell.ie. looking from the top, it would be thus :---: :vs :---:--: : Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
