Jan-03-02, 04:05 AM (EST) "F40PH, PH-2, PHM-2, or F40C...Do these locomotives exist?" I would love to see some F40PH, F40PH-2, F40PHM-2, or F40C model locomotives come to be. I have been looking for one I could try my luck at reskinning in Chicago Metra livery. All built by EMD of LaGrange, ILThere doesn't seem to be any of these in existence. Anyone know if one of these have been built yet? Here is an F40PH...Message Areas - "F40PH, PH-2, PHM-2, or F40C...Do these locomotives exist?" – image 1 Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-03-02, 02:23 PM (EST) 2. "RE: F40PH, PH-2, PHM-2, or F40C...Do these locomotives exist?" As of right now, your best bet is the F45 skinned in Amtrak phase 3 (cigar band) paint. There IS an F40PH on the horizon by the great Buzz..if you do a search for F40 you'll find early screenshots. However, you'll also learn that Buzz upgraded his computer and it decided to wreak havok on whichever modeling program he was using. SO..long story short, there is no F40 right now. Seems like somebody skinned the F45 to SDP40F specs but I'm not for sure. There have been several posts lately asking about the status of the F40 but I haven't seen a reply. Buzz was going to have to make a partition on the C drive and run WinME or 98SE (I forget which) so he could finish the unit but that's the last I heard. My advice is to download the F45 (and the custom cab, which is beautiful...'cept for the view of the toilet, lol) and pretend it's an F40PH. If you ignore the front porch it's not a huge stretch. And for God's sakes, download the 5 chime horn...those Amtrak trains just do not sound right without 'em.
