Dec-30-01, 01:17 PM (EST) "N&W J Class 4-8-4 Request" Hi,I am a railroad enthusiast and I am also a Norfolk & Western / Norfolk Southern fan as well as a model (HO and N scales)train enthusiast. I rode the N&W J Class 4-8-4 #611 on a fan excursion several years ago, and I'm constantly trying to find as much info on on the N&W J Class locos as I can. I would appreciate any info you may know of on these magnificient machines. The thrill and awesome power of locomotives, especially steam locos, has been captivating to me since as a boy I used to sit in my Aunt's bay window in Welch, WV and watch the long lines of N&W coal consists go by. I was hoping one of you excellent locomotive modelers out there would be willing to model the N&W J Class 4-8-4 #611. I hate to seem like a slacker, but I have absolutely no 3d modeling skills or the software at all. I can't even draw good stick people. Here is a link I have to a fairly good pic of the 611: http://www.retroweb.com/611lastrun.html I'm having many pleasurable hours using MSTS, but would like to use my favorite N&W / NS equipment, routes and activities so I have downloaded all the N&W / NS files for MSTS I can find. Any info on finding data on N&W and/or the J Class locos would be appreciated but I would love to be able to use the J Class in MSTS.Thanks for any help and for just reading my post. I should have her done in about 3 dyas as I have a sw1500 to finish first. you love steam ehh? me too. did you get the Selkirk? a friend of mine just skinned it into N&W and is gonna upload it shortly. that is if we can figure out the texture problem. Dec-30-01, 11:59 PM (EST) 3. "RE: N&W J Class 4-8-4 Request" The ESE is a J-3 class Hudson 4-6-4. The N&W J class engines were 4-8-4s. They are two very different classes of locomotives. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-02-02, 05:38 PM (EST) 5. "RE: N&W J Class 4-8-4 Request" Thanks TOPDOG5184 for suggesting the ESE from train artisan. Even though it's not a 4-8-4, I'll try it when it's reskinned into a N&W and I'll also try the Selkirk when it's ready, but I'd love a J class 4-8-4.Are you using TSM to do the reskins? Thanks again for the reply.

Jan-02-02, 05:17 PM (EST) 4. "RE: N&W J Class 4-8-4 Request" LAST EDITED ON Jan-02-02 AT 05:19 PM (EST)Thanks ertfor3. It sounds like a great book. I'll have to go start looking for it soon. I'm a N&W and NS rail fan...steam probably more than diesel, but I still like the diesels. I love going to the Spencer shops to look at their displays, but I especially love going to Roanoke to see theirs. Thanks again.
