Dec-28-01, 11:22 AM (EST) "Animating along the z-axis" Been working on a rotary snowplow in TSM. I set frame rotation to 8 frames using 45 degree increments. Frames 0,1,2 and 6,7,8 appear ok. For frames 3,4,5, the part is flipped front to back along the z axis. But since you never see the back, (I had designed the part from a tube)I removed that polygon. I also tried it with a disc. It did the same thing, flipped in frames 3,4,5. I think a rotary snowplow should rotate. I only have TSM available. Can anyone help?Dave Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-29-01, 05:15 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Animating along the z-axis" For an effective rotation, you only need about 3 or for frames. For example, a 16 bladed fan would use the following degrees: 0, 5.625, 11.25, and 16.875. Trust me - all the blades will appear to spin through the whole 360 degrees. Cheers!

Dec-29-01, 05:48 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Animating along the z-axis" LAST EDITED ON Dec-29-01 AT 05:50 PM (EST)Dave,This is one time I can say "been there, done that". My rotary did the same thing. Solution: Highlight the rotorblade and go back into Parts Properties (F2). From there, click on the "animation" box. You should see a listing of the animations. Simply take the ones that start with "180", click "Edit Rotation" and change them to "0" in the X-axis box (or Z, where ever they're listed), then SAVE. Put it back into MSTS and it should spin O.K.Jake Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
