Dec-25-01, 07:18 PM (EST) "SD40B Final Version" LAST EDITED ON Dec-25-01 AT 07:20 PM (EST)LAST EDITED ON Dec-25-01 AT 07:19 PM (EST)Here it is the SD40B Final VersionThe unit has trucks, paint and other images from the
folks at SOO Historical Society in particular
Rick Johnson for the Art Work used on the model.(Iam waiting till after the holidays for a response
from the SLHTS for permission to use the images and
distribute them on this model.)Here are the Final Version screen grabs.Message Areas - "SD40B Final Version" – image 1Message Areas - "SD40B Final Version" – image 2I did run afoul of the 2.3mb limit in MSTS with this model
so I left off the armiture of the Coupler which makes it
appear to be floating in space at each end of the unit.If someone out there knows how to fix this problem I'd
appreciate an e-mail about it....and I couldn't get the
third axle to turn on the bogies (I'd appreciate help here
also...I tried the fixes listed on the forum and nothing
worked.....)It will be uploaded as soon as I get a response from SLHTS
or one week after the first of January. Also the ENG file and SD file need some tweaking if anyone
is willing to volunteer to help out.LaterControll Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-26-01, 00:00 AM (EST) 3. "RE: SD40B Final Version" One more difference in the SD40 unit heights is that the B unit
sits about 8" to 1' taller than the SD40 units made by others...
this is due to me using the MSTS SD40 model as a guage. Here is a pic and I am wondering if their is enough of a gap
to be fixed or does it look o.k. let me know.Message Areas - "SD40B Final Version" – image 3Later

Dec-26-01, 01:04 AM (EST) 4. "RE: SD40B Final Version" This is the same problem Chip Buchanan at Dekosoft3D and Patrick Camaro of 3DPerfection Models had - the overscaling of the default models in MSTS. I'd hate to see you go through all that work a second time. If you can live with it, I sure can.

Dec-26-01, 06:25 AM (EST) 5. "RE: SD40B Final Version" Hi,I think I could live with this as well but with all the
folks talking about scale and trying to get the most
realistic models into MSTS then I might be tempted to
fix the height problem (its just lowering a couple of items)
so it should not take much effort.....but I don't even want
to go back into it now after a few problems have dropped up
whenever I put anything else onto her from this point out...
It might be the number of polys I have into it but I have no
way of checking the poly count in 3D Canvas. Thanks ControllP.S. I just finished a BN version of this model and its already
uploaded to train-sim.com so I am just waiting for Nels to put
it up for all to use....I know its the holidays so it might be
a week before it gets done.Later Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
