Dec-17-01, 04:54 PM (EST) 5. "RE: 2nd SNCB / NMBS diesel" Hi Andre,The site is already done but has no info on trains, this section is not enabled, we first have to test the site for correct loading and applications first. Each locomotive will have a preview window that will list all the points the loco has, ie working wipers pantographs etc, if its not listed then it is not on the model. However to date some factors are known, the V160 does not have a cab view, the Nohabs have a generic gab view but no working gauges, the BB12000 / CFL1600 will hopefully have the same but no working gauges. None of the locos have sounds so are alaised to stock MSTS, l have tried to get cab designers and sound designers but so far no takers ( there is a lone guy in Norway doing a Di3 cab but a release date has not been set ).Eng files are not what we call 1% files but are generic to that type of loco in all the major aspects and perform as one would expect a loco of these characteristics to perform, l am not an engine driver .All the locos have very high poly counts 6000-7500 with 3D bogies and handrails plus anything else l can add within the limits of FPS, all have see through major windows ( cabs etc but not engine rooms, except the V200 which has very large engine room windows ) with modeled cabs. Textures are 512x512 to get the best performance and are painted and not photo grabs, this leads to problems displaying road dirt on certain color schemes, if it looks bad its left off !!. The BB12000 / CFL1600 uses 1024x1024 which allows better textures all round with finer detail for ventilators and such like. What you read is what you get if you are unsure on something please contact us for conformation of facts, there are many things that the customer may want and are not on my locos, they are not on there because a; l do not know how to do it or b; the technology does not exsist, there will be other commercial designers with better items in certain areas, hopefully mine will be better in different areas ?, thats payware competition.Initially it will be what you have seen here plus a few more from myself and a English designer making BR trains, if theres is support we will continue. As time progresses we will get better as will others and thats the exciting bit .hope that explains it a bit more to you, if you have any more questions please ask .Best regardsMichaelPS the site is www.alphasim.co.uk/ but remember no trains just yet . Dec-18-01, 04:37 AM (EST) 8. "RE: 2nd SNCB / NMBS diesel" I can help you for the cabviews, sounds and eng.files michael. I have sufficient technical knowlegde of these loco's and their new version with floating cabs.I did the testing on the 5157 and ajusted the eng.file to the specific technical standards of the real loco's.I also did the soundfile and the cabview where I ajusted the standard Dash 9 to the European standards and more specific the Belgian one's,where all the brake gauges are in Bar instead of Psi.If you want my help just contact me:sauna@pandora.be Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-18-01, 04:32 AM (EST) 7. "RE: 2nd SNCB / NMBS diesel" LAST EDITED ON Dec-18-01 AT 04:35 AM (EST)Mickoo thanks for the answer.I love the Nohab and i am looking forward for that model. I bookmarked the page....Well for the others, since the cab and sound are generic it's in my own opinion not complete. I hope you find some people capable to do the sound and cabviews.Btw i asked someone from belgium who did the soundworks on the NMBS HLD51 if he was able to get the Nohab sounds. He has some ideas so perhaps he will contact you.André Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-18-01, 07:28 AM (EST) 9. "RE: 2nd SNCB / NMBS diesel" Hi Andre,Yes somebody has come forward and l shall be contacting him very soon to see if we can sort something out, this is very good news as l dont like incomplete items as you will have seen on our site .As for the Nohabs there is very little different between cabs and such differences are pretty local to each country of origin, l have my own cab shots of DSB and SNCB and there is very little different, but there are differences l will agree. The sounds of the GP38 are very close to the European Nohab, so close its uncanny, mind you with the prime mover being the GM567 engine the only differences will be in fan noise or exhaust fittings, having said that the DSB compressor seems connected direct to the crankshaft and when it kicks in deepens the exhaust note as the rpm drops to take up the load, l belive the GP38 compressor is electric ?.At the moment things are very fluid and can change, what l detailed above is the bare minimum and can only get better. One good thing about a generic cab view with no gauges is that FPS is fantastic as the sim does not have to draw all the moving parts, l drive with the HUD display as that along with the gaugeless 2D cab allows good FPS when driving from the cab.Best regardsMichael Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
