Dec-15-01, 02:52 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Narrow-Gauge Locos." Hello Again
As far as I know, my Rio Grande Southern stuff are currently the only repaints in a Colorado narrow gauge livery for MSTS. As for a 4-4-0, one is apparently about to be released. See the 4-4-0 General post on the next page, it's a sweet loco. When it's released, I plan to repaint it as Eureka & Palisade #4, a restored narrow gauge 4-4-0 that is operated by Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Scenic Railroad. It's usually on static display I think, but they fire it up for special occasions. Here's a pic.Grizzly

Dec-21-01, 06:09 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Narrow-Gauge Locos." Hey Rio Grande Dude:
Just thought I'd let you know I'm well under way with the Eureka repaint of the 4-4-0. I finished the tender last night and now starting work on the engine. I won't be able to exactly duplicate all the intricate etching on some parts like the domes, but it is looking good. Let me know if you'd like to take a "beta peek" at it before it's uploaded. With Christmas though, I may not have it done till late next week some time.GrizzlyP.S. I have an HO set of Durango & Silverton coaches I may scan and paint onto John Fowlis' PO&N coaches. Dec-21-01, 01:53 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Narrow-Gauge Locos." I think everyone missed the point: There aren't any actual narrow gauge models out there yet, only this week was the narrow gauge track, which looks excellent by the way, was released. Hopefully someone will create something or modify something to run on the "Colorado Standard Gauge" soon...Rob Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-21-01, 04:15 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Narrow-Gauge Locos." Oh yeah, I do hope somebody will figure out how to make a true narrow-gauge RR and fitting stock for Train Sim - "true" meaning that you cannot run standard-gauge stock on it, and that you cannot narrow-gauge stock on standard-gauge route (still with me? ).

Dec-22-01, 03:20 AM (EST) 11. "RE: Narrow-Gauge Locos." Yeah, I do know the two Japanese routes in TS are supposed to be narrow-gauge, but actually they aren't - there's only one gauge (standard gauge, 1435 mm) in Train Sim until now. There are indications that originally provisions were made to support numerous different gauges, but this feature obviously never made it into the final version . So I guess unless Kuju get the green light to release a total upgrade, it is up to freelancers to try and add those features that MS decided to keep out for some reasons.D.M.

Dec-23-01, 06:31 AM (EST) 12. "RE: Narrow-Gauge Locos." The narrow gauge track I uploaded does not stop you from running normal gauge material on it but that's not a big problem in my view.
If route builders and activity creators use it as supposed I hope we will see some real nice things involving both gauges.
