Jun-20-01, 04:08 AM (EST) "TEE / IC Rheingold is going Beta SOON !" The Rheingold IC train is going beta later this week, as soon as I do some tests and figure out what's wup with these fricken smoothing groups.Again no panel yet due to two reasons,
1) No Photo Reference !
2) No Cab Editor Importing capability. So here are the pics, I belive I have achived another first, in that I made Multilayer Transparency work with a solid object stuck between all of them.

Well that's it today (Wed.) is my significant other's Birthday and I'm taking the day off and going to San Diego for the day with her, so Happy Simming, and Don't expect any quick responses, the website www.3dtrains.com is switching servers and will be up shortly.See you all back here on Thursday !Andrei

Jun-21-01, 02:07 AM (EST) 5. "RE: TEE / IC Rheingold is going Beta SOON !" Yes I do,The reason I picked the TEE / IC / 103 is because of my love for a "High Speed" in those days train, and how exciting and luxurious it was to ride. My memories of the interior are fading, and it's not easy finding good "80's" Interiors, just the same I downloaded all the images for the IC interiors and will try and model most of them as accurately as possible, I'm currently working on the interior as I remember it as a 12 year old kid...The nice thing about doing the work on that train is the parts can get interchanged easily for 2'nd class I remodel the interior, do a quick re-paint (1 Photoshop Layer) and Bingo 2'nd class is here, 2 hours tops. For all the other Silver .... whatever... trains it's more of the same, re-paint, re do interior and Bingo ! new livery !Also if you look carefully on MS's official Trainsim fan site on msn you'll see a rough model of a 216 Diesel Lock(Engine), that will again get a re-paint and release...I also plan on working on a "Speisewagen" to make the 1'st 2'nd Restaurant set for the initial 80's rheingold complete. Once done the 216 Diesel gets a complete makeover and that goes out the door... after that I'm planing an off the wall kind of model. Now with the level of detail etc, once interior views are created, sounds re-done and Cab Files completed, I don't see why the 103 Could not become a comercial $5.00 or $10.00 add on even without a scenery upgrade. In my mind If I were to complete the rheingold and get together with someone (knows who he is) to do the Rhine river from Koeln over the hohenzollern bridge to Koblenz or even Frankfurt that I wouldn't sell for any less than $30-$40. And cry as you may, the rhine river valley is going to take 2 people the better part of 6-to a year, and I'm not throwing a year of working nights and weekends away for chump change ! Again, My oppinion, cry as you may I'm not changeing my mind on this one. My time is too precious and my wallet to empty to just toss countless hours into this. And yes I know the whole speech "I'll just copy it off a friend" good luck with that since I allready have a Brilliant idea to discourage that behavior ! Think Unique textures on every purchase ! Jun-25-01, 06:33 PM (EST) 6. "RE: TEE / IC Rheingold is going Beta SOON !" Whooo really great work you certainly know wich are the most beautiful trains in europe. The 103 model is one of the most loved models in my collection. Though I can think you can only understand it when you have drivin this train on the route from Amsterdam to Basel with ofcourse consists the most beautiful piece of track near the Rhein river Next to Koblenz..
And I just readed that you were intended to work on that one as well. I am heading this year to swiss with probably the Rembrand EC and i am sure to take a lot off pictures as usual. Maybe i can help you with some pictures but looking at the things you have done you won t need my help Greetz Mafkeesje Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
