ICE, finally downloadable, for FREE !!" it doesn't freaken work ur readme sux i dont understand, can u tell me EXACTLY what to do.? i copied the contents of the ACELA to the ICE directory then i extracted the files to to the ICE directory. i said yes to overwrite .but i'm lost. oh and i deleted acela.eng acela.ace and acela.s ONLY is there anything i did wrong or didn't do? I know that Freeware Flight Group and Project Freeware both closed because of people like "CPRailman" who obviously don't understand the mechanics of the product and, instead of taking it upon themselves to learn what they lack, they lash out at the developers for some unknown reason. Is this not like a student failing a test and then screaming insults at the teacher?I have spent a lot of time asking questions and reading others questions on here and I have learned an immense amount about PCs, flightsims, trainsims, etc. I thank everyone who is helpful in that way!I have downloaded the ICE and installed it according to instructions and it works fine. For those of you with problems whi insist on screaming at the rest of us, I am sorry to say this, but I feel your biggest problem is in the mirror.TGV

>altogether! LOL I'm afraid I do too . Try as I might, I've not been able to get the ICE to work. I've followed the instructions step by step, several times, tried different folder names and searched for other config files that might be related, but I just can't get the ICE to show up in the list of possible trains to drive (it should be an option in the locomotive dropdown list when I try an exploration route, right?).Only odd thing I can think about concerning my installation is that Train Sim is on the D: drive. I've added a list of the 4 ICE-related directories of my Train Sim folder:Directory of D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\TRAINS\CONSISTS

Lamer. This download went baby-ass smooth as an install and the whole train is awesome. As I read around the forum I'm convinced some folks are in way too deep with this sim when they can't follow directions. They need to drag the Atari back out and plug the pong cartridge in.

Only when I changed that line to reference the file "insideacelacar.s" would the ICE train work on my system.So how did the rest of you get the ICE to work?TAP

"RE: Well It Doesn't Work For Me Either" Well here's the answer from the Horse's (Jackass) whatever's mouth !The Current release of ICE has a Flaw, some people are experienceing problems with the internals of the passenger car, which I have not modeled due to lack of photo reference, I have a couple of pics (3) and I need some more to really do It Justice. Once done This will no longer be an issue.Here are the two solutions, Look at the Wag file and rename the acela file to the Wag reference, or change the Wag refernece to the one you have in your ICE folder, either way it'l find the Internal View and it won't crash !Sincerely,Andrei Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

2) Linking to the front pageI pay for the bandwidth. If someone wants to host the ICE file, then fine. If they wish to link to the site, then great. Linking to the file directly only pisses me off.Sorry for the rant (it's not directed at you)...Glad you finally found the ICE file and got it to download. Cheers!
