Apr-16-02, 10:36 PM (EST) "Aso Boy Passenger Cars" The 'Aso Boy' passenger car set is ready. If you've downloaded the Japanese C50 (actually 8620) locomotive posted early January, and the revision containing the Aso Boy locomotive (late March), you might enjoy running these models as an alternative to the Hisatsu Kiha DMUs.What is Aso Boy? It's a tourist train that runs in Kyushu consisting of three passenger cars pulled by an 8620 (Mikado) class steam locomotive. Coincidentally, this train occasionally runs on the Hisatsu line. The name come from Mt. Aso, a prominent volcano on the island. Here are a couple of screen shots.Message Areas - "Aso Boy Passenger Cars" – image 1 Message Areas - "Aso Boy Passenger Cars" – image 2 The download includes a passenger view (inset). I like the way the locomotive and tender, visible through the observation windows at the front of the car, move as the tracks meander about.Once again, check F. Hamada's excellent English-language web site for some great railfan photos that he's taken around Kyushu and elsewhere. Of course Aso Boy is among them -- there're even a couple of MPG videos of the train you can download. Here's the link:http://village.infoweb.ne.jp/~fwgd9440/imenu/imenu.htmA usual I'm on my way to the airport and out of the USA for a little while. One thing I haven't been able to do is verify that the download passed QC and is actually available in the Train-Sim File Library. Hopefully there won't be a problem.Rick Vernon

I downloaded them last night, and especially enjoyed the ceiling fan swinging lazily in the heat ... just like my own was doing above me . Please keep up the excellent work... -Phil Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I am very interested in Japanese trains (I've only found a few). Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
