Apr-11-02, 02:00 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Help installing trains " I haven't got the f40phmetra so far, I do have the f40phme2.zip and it installs and runs fine. Maybe I will get a chance to try one of the others and see what happens.Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-11-02, 02:24 AM (EST) 7. "RE: Help installing trains " I downloaded the f40phamt.zip and installed it. There were no problems getting it running. I opened it with winzip and as always first checked the readme.txt to see where the install directory needed to be. It stated to put it in the f40ph directory. I extracted all the files into it and copied the .con file to the consist directory. After starting MSTS the engine was in the list and the consist was listed. I started a route (explore mode for all testing) and startedmoving. The driver that shows in the window is definitely not detailed very much. Other than no real good rear red lights it works fine. Try completely removing the f40ph directory and reinstalling the engine.Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-11-02, 05:51 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Help installing trains " When you open the f40phmet.zip the readme.txt file states to save all of the files in a directory labeled f40ph. Once all of the files are extracted there, transfer the consist .con file to the consist directory and the engine will shop in MSTS for exploring. I don't know how many archives you have extracted, but some were saved in the desired location and will extract there automatically, some have an entry in the readme file telling you where to save files and some have no preference, save them into whatever you want to call the directory. Due to the consist file pointing to both a filename for the cars and a directory location that is why you need to save files into the specified location. Now if I could get the exteacted .sd files to always have the correct car file listed things would be easier. Many of the freight cars have a .s shape file, but the matching .sd file points to a TS default car .s file instead.Example:SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0t1t______shape ( usfreight6.s
ESD_Detail_Level ( 0 )
ESD_Software_DLev ( 2 )
ESD_Alternative_Texture ( 0 )
ESD_Bounding_Box ( -1.607 1.011 -8.417 1.620 5.107 8.306 )
)When the shape should be newcar.s (whatever the name of the car is).Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
