Apr-09-02, 08:54 AM (EST) "Super Trans Error" I downloaded a couple of the Amtrak routes for Marias. The Empire Builder and #27. I also downloaded the AMD 103 (driveable p42) engines. After installing, when I start TS, I get an error message similar to this: Can't find file Trains/Trainsets/Super Trans 31089.eng (the numbers may not be exact)and the same error for the .wag file. I can hit the continue button and the sim will run. I just get the error messages whenever I start the sim or when ever I exit and activity. It also shows up when I go into the activity editor to makeup or change a consist.I have searched the file library on T-S.com for any files with Super Trans and I get no matches. Can anyone help with this error?Carlyle Thompson

4/10/02 I believe that I have partly solved the problem. I downloaded the Con Builder and ran it. I tested Consists and discovered that the missing files are from Amtrak #7 or #27 on the original Marias pass. I have eliminated 1/2 of the errors and I believe I can correct the remainder. I also was able to correct the missing files for the cab and sounds for the ACL F7a. I just needed to rename cvf and horn files. The Con Builder really works well!Carlyle

Apr-10-02, 06:48 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Super Trans Error" Carlyle,Just for curiosity's sake, why did you use the AMD 103 files?
They have been replaced in Toto by the Gen_Pak series....
Which are visually much more accurate and include sounds and a Sam Spade cab...------Chuck Schneider---------

Apr-11-02, 09:04 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Super Trans Error" Somewhere the ReadMe for the 7 or 27 activities it stated that I would need the AMD 103. After searching through the File Library and Reading some of the messages on the board, I discovered that the Gen Paks were available. I have installed them and like them much better. I have also discovered that the 7 and 27 trains are for the MP 1.0 and I have been using the MP3.0 for the last month. I suppose that I will remove the AMD 103 and the 7 and 27 since I like the MP3.0 much better. Thanks for the info.Carlyle Thompson Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-11-02, 09:21 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Super Trans Error" Now that you mention it, since I uploaded the new p42's, when I start train-sim, I get an error message saying it is looking for the AMD 103/... file (it's no longer there). If I tell it to proceed, it goes into the message of death statement. How can this be fixed? Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Apr-11-02, 09:47 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Super Trans Error" Run Activity Analysis or Con Builder and find the "offending" consist that is causing all this... Then either delete it or edit it to use the Gen Pak locos instead!------Chuck Schneider---------

Apr-12-02, 03:04 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Super Trans Error" Thanks for the info to correct the amd 103 file problem. I did use conbuilder, but it did not bring up any problems. Then I switched to Route Control, using the checkup function for activities and consists and it found the problem and fixed it. Train-Sim now runs fine. Thanks and thank you to Jak Fearon for Route Control.Steve Burr Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-12-02, 07:26 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Super Trans Error" StephenHave a look at http://webDotTrainSim.tripod.com/msts11b.htmfor some tips to install the Genesis Packs and uninstalling earlier versions, including the AMD103.The Train #27 activity has a reference to the AMD103 in a loose consist and ConBuilder can't solve that one. So here's what you do (Train #27 is a favourite activity of mine so I needed to find a solution!): http://webDotTrainSim.tripod.com/msts18.htmand scroll down a bit to find "Activities: AMD103 missing".Happy Genesising...

Apr-12-02, 08:02 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Super Trans Error" When running ConBuilder goto Test Units, select consists, tag all of them and run test. If one of them does not show a matching engine or wagon it will flag and generate a report. Then you can look at the report and find the consist that is bad, open it and change the unit that doesn't detect in your files. Version 1.49 works great, now you do not need to know velocity or durability for the engines. I use it to verify all files for every new piece of rolling stock and consists installed. Lately there have been a lot of good new engines and wagons available. I found that there are 2GB of files in my trainset directory. One day I will clean it better by aliasing more units to eliminated the multiple copies of the sound and cabview directories on many of the engines. When I first started whenever a new car said to copy the Scotsman, GP38, Dash-9 or other engine I just did it, until I realized how much space it was taking up. Now I check the aliases for all new stock during the install process.Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
