Mar-31-02, 12:08 PM (EST) "Missing consists" This morning I was trying to make an activity in the Hoboken route and I thought I would go to Con Builder and see if there was some yard concists that I could just use in the yards of the activity I was using. In Con Builder, I have over 25 consists start with the word yard (sush as yard_one_siding5_consist.con
yard_one_siding7_consist.con
yard_one_singlecar.conyou get the idea)These probably came with extra routes or activities that I have added that someone else has wrote. Now when I go the sim Activity Editor and try to place a consist, when I drop the menu down there is only two consists that start with yard.Anyone seen this before or can offer a work around, I guess that you have to place consists from the editor, is this correct.ThanksChandler Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-01-02, 01:15 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Missing consists" Hi,Some remarks.
First little bit tricky, never noticed this by my self.
All those consists with yard are consists that come with MSTS.To place a static consist - and I assume that that is what you want - you only need one consist. Doesn't matter what consist.Only consists for services, player and AI need to be saved as a consist file.
Static consists are contained in the Activity file with a generic name "Loose consist"When you want to put some cars on a track, you can do the following:
- Go to the track and right click and choose place consist
- Choose a consist that is not too big and click OK.
- When the consist is placed, right click on it and choose properties.
- You are now in the route editor and can edit your consist and eventually throw away the original car or engine that you placed.Dick van den Hoven

When I Con Builder open and click on the icon open the list of consist files, that is what I was looking at, what I should have done was open the file and read the description, that is what the sim editor wants to see. Thanks for your replyChandler Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
