went to the Denver CO ForneyMuseum (http://www.forneymuseum.com) today where #4005 is housed, along w/ a digital camera to get cab pics (along w/ local train watching).....in the warehouse building where the #4005 is kept, its lit like the batcave, as well as cramped so you can't get any good pics of the outside of the engine....got 14 exterior pics, and 17 interior pics of the thing, most avg 300k so I'm just going to post the main highlightsthe above cab pic was taken from the main floor, even w/ the cab of the engine, you can then walk behind it down to track level on the right side

(the red thing is a rotary)
on the right side by the cab they have a sign that says you can climb up behind the cab -between the actuall cab and the tender-

straight vertical up the side (people did that for a living?)
look into the cab through -I guess there use to be 4 sets of windows in the doors (locked) between the cab and the tender....and its PITCH BLACK..look around, they have a desk lamp from the ceiling w/ a burnt out light in the cab....go talk to the local guide guy "umm, I'd like to take some pics of the cab"....gets the light replaced--the maintenence guy goes thue the glassless window (seen above).....I then go back up to the cab start taking pics...other people come/go, then another guy comes up w/ a camera...he asks(not word for word) "whatcha doing?" ...me thinking this is just an ordinary railfan......"taking pics for a modeling project"...."what for?"...me again thinking this person is comparable to some Rock Island fans I've met, who don't associate comuters and trains...."well theres this computer game where you have trains......."--->turns out the other guy was "NickF" one of the local MSTS route GODS here, and he was there for the same reason....I nearly died..(Nick howed your pics turn out??)here are mine (all of the glass stuff in the cab dissipeared when the engine was stored outside)

(lots o'pics)" OK, I'll get those sent off to you right away--Theres 4 zips for the int shots at 5.5 MB, and 3 zips at 2.7 MB for the ext shots, so I'll send off the int today and the outside ones tomorrow each zip will be a seperate e-mail to minimize problems
here are some other 4-8-8-4 shots of #4004
the first if from the G.Elwood site, the other I took 1-6-02 up in Cheyenne (there's a squirrel dancing around on the top of the engine someware--in the park shot, not the live one)
