Mar-04-02, 00:14 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Loco Physics update?" Several locomotive lines have been released in V4.1 physics, including all SD and some FM and GE units. Peter Baker and I have reworked most locomotives into V4.1, so if you are looking for a psrticular model, it is probably done. If you have a particular request that can be constructed under the MSTS engine, post it and I will see if it can be done.

Mar-05-02, 10:01 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Loco Physics update?" I have tried to run a search for V4.1 and can not seem to get it to come up, what is the file name.ThanksChandler Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-05-02, 11:08 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Loco Physics update?" dash8v41.zip, fmv41phy.zip, sw1000ef.zip, and sdphy41.zip are some of the file names. Some of the Geeps have V4.1 physics as well, gp18_np.zip and gp7tp.zip for example. The C30-7 and C36-7 locomotives also use V4.1 physics.
Thanks,

Mar-05-02, 01:46 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Loco Physics update?" My fault, I thought there might be an update the the filelocophy3.zipI just didn't realize that the engine files would have the update built into them.ThanksChandler Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-05-02, 11:05 PM (EST) 10. "RE: Loco Physics update?" The above files cover 33 different models of locomotive in total. I also have a GP set that adds an additional 19 locomotives. I should release it any time.
There are readme files and install instructions, but these may require some modifications to match particular models as the size and scale of all is not the same. You may need to paste in the exhaust and lights and size data, which should not be done unless you understand how to do it. There may be some other minor editing you will want to do to suit your setup tastes, including how to operate dynamic brakes (some prefer a notch action and some notchless), and the line:
Notch( 0.3 1 TrainBrakesControllerGraduatedSelfLapLimitedHoldingStart )
which may or may bot have the word holding, which will determine initial pump up time on your brakes.

>Bob If I download these how do I use them? Is there a Readme? Do they work on all dash8, gp18 or SD locos? I have updated my dynamic brakes by editing the .eng files using new values. Do the new physics include this, considering the dynamics need all the help they can get for MP3 and big trains.
Thanks,
