Mar-01-02, 08:21 PM (EST) "Durango & Silverton coaches roll into file library!" Okay, after playing with these on and off for a couple of months, I finally got these to where I'm happy with them. Being as I work outdoors for a living and we had a blizzard here in Denver today, I had some time on my hands to finish them today. These are repaints of John Fowlis's old time coaches. I've made them to look more Durango & Silverton by giving them square topped windows. Also, all alpha channel and mapping issues are finally fixed (thanks John!). There are two D&S coaches in this set, the "Elk Park" and the "Home Ranch". I will probably add some more to the set later so longer consists can be made to go with Julian's new K-36. I may also make old Denver & Rio Grande as well as Cumbres & Toltec coaches to go with the K-36. Here's a couple of pics, one a closeup, and the other one that anyone who has been to D&S Railfest will recognize: hard working little Eureka in front of a small D&S consist.Enjoy 'em

Mar-02-02, 07:27 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Durango & Silverton coaches roll into file library!" They look great....Repainted they would look good on the ET&WNC I'm building. Files are not yet up in the file library but I wonder if they fit XTracks narrow gauge or do they ride outside the rails, like some other narrow gauge rolling stock. No problem I could just regauge the wheels...Now how would I do that? Lets see shape is in the *.s file. I'll need to figure out how to read that. Then I'll find it to be a unicode data table so I'll need to get it into a grahics formate. Let's see whoops now I'm a pirate. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-02-02, 10:11 AM (EST) 7. "RE: Durango & Silverton coaches roll into file library!" The D & S usually runs 7-10 of them per train, mixed with 3-4 open-air excursion goldolas, pulled by either a K-36 or a K-37. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-02-02, 09:51 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Durango & Silverton coaches roll into file library!" Would also look great on my early Oswego Midland (NYO&W). Only thing missing is the truss rods. By the way, are these narrow gauge??? I'm assuming they are. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-02-02, 09:00 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Durango & Silverton coaches roll into file library!" First of all, to make by second post correct, the 2nd formula does not have an X in it.
Second, not to be rude, D&S Does not run K-37's due to tight turns on it's route.

Mar-05-02, 08:06 AM (EST) 9. "RE: Durango & Silverton coaches roll into file library!" They finally were available yesterday. No they are not narrow gauge. Yes they do (sorta) run on XTracks. Like most (if not all) the available narrow gauge rolling stock in the file section if you look close you'll notice that the wheels run outside the rails. They appear sized to match the mogul and look more than decent in a narrow gauge setting. Now if I could only edit the s file I could correctly gauge the trucks! Nobody cares if I repaint them for ET&WNC or what ever but wo if want to tinker with an s file to get some details right. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
