Feb-10-02, 07:07 PM (EST) "Help needed in Train Sim Modeler conversion!!!!!" Hello. I have tried to import a steam locomotive object into Train Simulator after following the insturctions on how to make a .eng file for it. When I go to convert it into the game a message comes up "all parts but one must have a parent" I ignore this and continue with the conversion, but when I go to open the steam locomotive section of the consist editor, the game crashes. Please help me. I really want this loco imported into Train Simulator. Thanks.Hoosac Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

By the way the locomotive needing help is B&M Pacific number 3713.

Feb-10-02, 08:57 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Help needed in Train Sim Modeler conversion!!!!!" It's easy to find the offending part - go to "F2" ( Part Properties ), and read the box on the 2nd line ( 1st line is "Part Name", 2nd is "Part Parent" ). You should see a "parent" part. The only one that shouldn't have a parent is your main part( frame, carbody, boiler, whatever, make sure it's called "main" ), and ( under "Part" ) that should have it's axis centered to "origin"......all the rest should have their axis set to "object". Use the side arrow keys to cycle through the parts, then hit "F2". If it's OK, then hit "Return", then repeat the process until you've discovered the offending part. If all else fails, zip your dst. file to me and I'll try to get you going.
