Feb-08-02, 12:42 PM (EST) "Opened up a can of worms, need help big time! :(" Trying to replace the default Genesis as well as the Buzz Benz AMD103 with Jens Chris' new P42s. Needless to say it's not going very well. I'me getting a bunch of "no extended shape data" and "cant add shape to world" errors. Anyone else out there tried to set these engines up in this matter having any better luck than I have? I really want to use these nice models to overwrite the default mosntrocites. Are you opening up the *.sd file with Wordpad and changing the entry to match the corresponding *.s file in the same folder? If the *.s file that's listed in the *.sd file doesn't exist you'll get the error that you described.Regards,

I never see it in the game because rather than replacing it in the TRAINSET folder, I went into Conbuilder and simply replaced the AMD103 with various models of J-C's P42's. It's important to keep the same name for the consist so the game doesn't start missing them. Once you get all the consists replaced, the AMD103 doesn't even show up in "Explore" mode.

I was messsing around with the names of the .s and .sd files when I should have been leaving them alone. I replaces the "AMD103" with the Phase III scheme and the "Genesis" with the Phase V. Now I can't wait to download some of those older Empire builder activities in the Library! My AI consists should look much better too!Now I just need to find a better bell sound and a K5LA horn and I'll be good to go! Oh yeah, I should mention that if you replace the default Genesis with a driveable one, it will free up some new player driveable consists which are rather bizarre, to say the least. One of the most far out ones is one named "Empire Builder" where you have two P42s up front, followed by a short string of Superliners, then three green BN boxcars, and then seventeen, yes SEVENTEEN more P42s at the rear! One of the Kuju guys that snuck that one in there either A)Had a wild sense of humor B)Was driven mad after working with the editiors all that time C)Was smokin' some really good stuff, or D)All of the above.
