Jan-25-02, 08:46 AM (EST) 6. "RE: VIA F40 Available" I downloaded both files but have trouble trying to figure out how to install in MSTS. How do you combine the two files? After combining them do they go directly into 'trainset'? I couldn't find a read-me file.
Thanks

Jan-25-02, 12:03 PM (EST) 7. "RE: VIA F40 Available" Does this apply to an existing F40 because when I downloaded the file I noticed that just had some .ace files and not the complete deal? Does anybody have some suggestions? Thanks,

Jan-25-02, 12:14 PM (EST) 8. "RE: VIA F40 Available" You have to download both files. The F40p.exe and F40p.001.When you get them both downloaded double click on the exe file.It extracts texture files from the .001 file.It will then create an F40PH file that will be ready to use.Hope this helps.Freddie A. Best wishes

Jan-25-02, 04:03 PM (EST) 12. "RE: VIA F40 Available" >I am running the Version 2
>Trainset right now. I take it you're beta testing it then?! I can't see it for download anywhere!Tim, you also mentioned that you did the lights on the F40. I was wondering why it had blue lights up top, which are replaced by red lights up top on the dim headlight setting?I hope Gaetan manages to get the cab done to go with it, that would be stunning. Having to drive it from a fuzzy, aliased GP38 cab is easily the worst thing about this loco (by which I mean the rest of it is fantastic!).And typically, now that I've downloaded it, Marias 3 is refusing to load (usual failed to read track database stuff...) Jan-26-02, 00:40 AM (EST) 17. "RE: VIA F40 Available" Does the version 2 train-set include a consist for VIA's "The Ocean"? I see this train in Halifax everyday and would like to recreate it, but I don't know exactly what the consist is, all I can say for sure is that it is headed by two F40s.Dave Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-25-02, 10:07 PM (EST) 15. "Better and better..." This loco just seems to get better and better! It's strange how some trainsets do this better than others, but this was the third roll/spin/triple lutz that it did in a row (accidentally, of course )! But has anyone else thought that the brakes are a little "peculiar"?!Message Areas - "VIA F40 Available" – image 12Message Areas - "VIA F40 Available" – image 13Message Areas - "VIA F40 Available" – image 14 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-26-02, 10:59 AM (EST) 18. "RE: VIA F40 Available" LAST EDITED ON Jan-26-02 AT 11:02 AM (EST)Hey TA FanThe Blue lights ( mmmmmm Blue Light ) are actually used on a unit not in service. When I lived in Ottawa a couple years ago 3 Trains used to sit there overnight for their early morning runs to Toronto and Montreal. All that was visible from the road driving by were the 2 blue lights beside the windows.
Dave..You have all the proper cars to make the Ocean consist right now. It generally consists of 13 cars and 2 units. I dont remember what order they were in now, BUT there is a VIA site that should be able to get me that info. I'll be back laterI loved that ride from Montreal to Halifax....very niceTim Kent

Jan-26-02, 04:59 PM (EST) 20. "RE: VIA F40 Available" Thanks Tim, I knew it was the same cars, but like you, wasn't sure of the order. The trip is a very nice one, the last time I did it was around 1986, I was only 6 at the time. Hopefully I will end up studying at McGill next year and I can take the train to Montreal just for the experience (even though it does cost more than flying on Tango )Dave Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
