Jan-08-02, 11:16 PM (EST) "Bodiddly: before and after shots" Howdy again... made a little progress I wanted you all to see. You've seen the before shots: http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/5554.htmlHere's the after shots. And I ask you, does Hack's Sante Fe make my city look good? Or does my city make the Sante Fe look good? BTW, the Sante Fe is the pro version by 3d Trains.Message Areas - "Bodiddly: before and after shots" – image 1all together: Ahhhhhh! Jan-08-02, 11:32 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" I'm gettin too old to fraternize with women anyway. And most of those look like the shallow two dimensional type anyway, clean out your bank account and split, leaving you with only paper memories.
Looks good so far, is that a custom terrain texture? Off topic, do you know if anybody ever did passenger cars for the Chief? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-08-02, 11:54 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" I don't know where Ron gets these gals from to pose for him... I'm sure they give him a funny look when he tells them what the pose is for.The ground texture is a default. Can't recall the name though but I used it in the Metro too up near Titan City.Don't think so on the Chief cars. Is that what the Warbonnet is? I've always liked the color scheme but never knew too much about it. Didn't TA do their own Chief set? Or it's coming maybe? I appreciate the little rivalry between the two, 3dtrains and TA... but frankly... COULD ONE OF YOU ALL SHOW SOME ORIGINALITY AND DO SOMETHING THE OTHER HASN'T??!??? *smirk* ought to be good for a fight... Just having a little fun.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-09-02, 01:39 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" The gals (and menfolk too) were rendered with Poser 4. Virtual gals will pose for anyone - even train nerds like me. Rich has been beta testing the latest set for me. I should have them ready for download very soon!Ron

Jan-08-02, 11:47 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" I got a SimCity message saying that the citizens of Jimtown were thirsty. So I added David Klemm's checkerboard water tower in several places and now all the Sims are happy.Message Areas - "Bodiddly: before and after shots" – image 7 Message Areas - "Bodiddly: before and after shots" – image 8 Message Areas - "Bodiddly: before and after shots" – image 9Well done David! Jan-09-02, 08:46 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" Rich, I've been a fan since the original #11 route and I enjoy your work. I also happen to be the village idiot when it comes to modifying routes. Would it be possible for you to include Hank Sundermeyer's excellent illuminated switchstands in Bodiddly ( or at least give directions on how to use them)? I like your trackplans for switching moves and drilling cars, but I hate guessing which way the stick is facing.
Thanks for all you do.-------------------Jake-------------------

Jan-09-02, 09:20 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" I've thought about adding Hank's semaphore signals to the route... This is a toughie though... I'm thinking I might stick with the BNSF signals and see if the semaphore objects can be used instead. I would like to finish tackling the problem of understanding how the default signals work with traffic trains. I don't know how much Hank modified the signals. Maybe worth it to just use his set if they work better than the defaults.I gotta long way to go before doing signals though. This section I just did is nearing only the right side of the V for route. After I'm done with this I go back and do the left side of the V. For this to make sense see my site and the Bodiddly page. Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-09-02, 02:49 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" LAST EDITED ON Jan-09-02 AT 02:51 PM (EST)Hi Rich,Some what between the BNSF and the semaphores are the search lights. The new Marias (V3.0) has an updated set of search lights with an improved signal script.
No AI's in your nose on single track; better signalling of interlinks and so on.
IMHO search lights do a very good job with steamers. Or I must be totally wrong. Here in the Netherland we have had some type of searchlights in the time we had steam too. (For those who know something of the Dutch signalling, I mean Lichtseinstelsel 46).You can email me if you need help.Dick van den Hoven

Jan-10-02, 00:26 AM (EST) 9. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" Still a long way off from signaling Dick. Hey! Whatever happened to that German site thing you talked about one time? Did anything ever come of that?Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-10-02, 12:30 PM (EST) 12. "RE: Bodiddly: before and after shots" Hi,That German thing is still resting. Other things asked my time.
Besides we did have a working American switchstand; I have woke up some guys.
And we also have American signals that work on single track, so I want to investigate what Hagen really has developed, he got the user_flags to work, but it has no priority to my opinion.Dick van den Hoven

Jan-10-02, 01:23 PM (EST) 13. "Rich" I know this does not belong here but thought you may watch this thread and felt it was the best way to contact you. I receive the following two messages about EMRR Smallville Duty activity when using Jak's Route Control. Perhaps you have an idea as to why:1 - K1 Smallville Switching.srv needs the consist: n11k EMRR RS3 x4 coal empty.con

2 - n11k EMRR RS3 x4 coal empty.con missingEverything else is just fine and I'm continually amazed at all the goodies in your spendid route. Something new discovered every day. I use it continually and haven't done a stock route activity since downloading EMMR a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to Bo Diddley also! Thanks, Rudy

Jan-10-02, 01:37 PM (EST) 14. "RE: Rich" Someone else emailed me about this. I don't have Route Control so I'm not sure what the problem is.What you need to do is look in the folder and see if that consist exists or not. In mine it does.I'm not sure if that consist is used or not. Sometimes I make up a consist and use it only for promo photos but it still gets included in the package just in case someone might want to use it in an activity they make for themself.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-10-02, 04:10 PM (EST) 15. "RE: Rich" I've seen that error message and when I checked, the consist was there and ready to go. At least it was on my system. I'm guessing that there's something about its nomenclature that Route Control doesn't like. (Though I'm not sure what.) You should be able to go ahead and run that activity with no ill effect.Henry Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-10-02, 06:03 PM (EST) 16. "RE: Rich" LAST EDITED ON Jan-10-02 AT 06:06 PM (EST)RichYes it appears in the consist and I have had no problems running any of the EMRR activities. No crashes or freezing so I'm not concerned at this point. Perhaps it is an anomaly of the excellent Route Control program, although I am presently using only Jak's demo. Perhaps registering to obtain additional functions may make a difference. I intend to do so tonight. Appreciate your comments too Henry - thanks all,Rudy

Jan-10-02, 07:40 PM (EST) 18. "RE: Rich" Hey Rich,I thought those file names sounded familar. Aren't those part of the Retro add-on #1? If they're the ones I'm thinking of, they are used in the Titan to Big City activity. Can't wait for the Bodiddly to be finished. Marv Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-10-02, 10:57 PM (EST) 21. "RE: Rich" Yea, I'm still here. I'm one of those quiet ones behind the scenes, trying to absorb the wealth of information that you, and the many others here contribute. I've been working way to many hours lately, and with the holidays now over, trying to get back to normal. Now, I just have to take care of the working part.I gotta come clean tho, (grab hold of your chair), I've been running on the PO&N for the last few days. (Ducking) Hope you don't think less of me!

Jan-10-02, 11:55 PM (EST) 22. "RE: Rich" Heya Marv, don't sweat the PO&N thing... *mischievous grin* you'll come back to your senses! The idea I have was something I meant to do a ways back before I released the Metro. I don't figure it to be a big deal.I don't have your new email address I don't think. Better give a holler via email and while you're doing that I'll set up appointements for you and the Metro shrink and see what we can do about that PO&N habit you've started. Jim? Jim who? *snickering* Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
