Jan-08-02, 02:29 PM (EST) "3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" I've made some 3-car heavy duty articulated well cars that will be available for download within a few days. They have standard 70-ton roller bearing trucks with 33" wheels at the ends and heavy duty 125-ton oversize roller bearing trucks with 38" wheels in between the cars in order to be able to handle heavier loads. Just like the real thing....I won't make as many sets this time, just a few of them, and then let the reskinners handle the rest.Message Areas - "3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" – image 1 Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-09-02, 01:42 AM (EST) 4. "RE: 3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" Yes there's a difference between the cars in the 3-car sets and the 5-car sets. The textures are totally different as is the texture mapping and the shape files are also different (all new trucks plus some other changes). The car textures among other things now include different side textures for left and right side of the cars. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-08-02, 08:53 PM (EST) 2. "RE: 3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" Cool! Thanks Svante!I like the "Black" ends...looks really cool. While I'm on the subject...Do the shape files list(name) a specific ace file in them? For instance if I use the Cn shape, sound, wag files, then re-name them to CSXribside00.s,and decide to use the evergreen ace files in the containing folder...will this work?,or do I have to use the original name of the ace files that came in the Cn folder? For instance...if I use the ace files from the evergreen container files,do i have to re-name that ace file to match the name of the original ace file for the Cn well car?(The Cn well car being re-painted to CSX).Another Question...If I want to make a single well car with 2 48' containers...I use only the -ribside02.s shape, sound, wag file?,or do I have to use all 3 shape, sound, wag files. Thanks Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-09-02, 01:39 AM (EST) 3. "RE: 3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" 1) The shape files contain information about the name of the textures that goes with them. You could either edit the name of the texture file in the s-file or rename a texture file to change which container is on which wagon. But there will be both CN and CP standalone cars with Evergreen containers, both dry goods and reefers. I just have to finish the paperwork first.2) You MUST, as in M*U*S*T, ALWAYS, as in A*L*W*A*Y*S, use the correct s-file, sd-file (sd does not stand for sound) and wag-file with my articulateds, the ones that came with my sets. Each car comes with its own configuration files that have been tailor made for each car and each position in a car set, and they are not interchangeable! The standalone cars are more flexible, but there are different versions of the standalones, and you can't use configuration files for a v3 car with a v2 car for example since they're different. Jan-14-02, 05:02 PM (EST) 7. "RE: 3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" They've been delayed because I had to rework my 5-car articulateds because of a bug or whatever in the way MSTS handles the articulateds. I've solved the problems that people had, and I know what to do but I figured that since I have to redo all my articulated shape files (darn Kuju...) I might as well do some more work on them. Jan-15-02, 03:17 PM (EST) 9. "RE: 3-car heavy duty articulated ribside well cars" Since I'm redoing the cars you will have to download the entire pack. Both the shapefiles and the textures are new. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
