Dec-29-01, 07:26 AM (EST) ""A thought. Don't you think Microsoft Should pay to Nels(and other people who suports this site) for all the work he(they) has(have) done?"" I mean, without this site, where are we?? Where we gonna get all those Add-ons?
Sure there are other sites, but none of them can beat this one.
I think it's a shame that Microsoft don't care about this site, and don't support it.
Bandwidth shouldn't be a problem for site like this, Microsoft should cover its cost.
Many people would not have gotten FS2002 without this site.
I think MS should be really glad to train-sim.com.
How many million $s MS have earned because of this site...and they don't give a sh*t about it.
Many people will not continue to buy new MSTSs if there were only 10 lousy locos...
This is my opinion so please don't trash me about it.
This post was originaly written for flightsim.com, but I thought it applies to train-sim.com too, so I posted it here too.

And I'll just add that the truly sad thing is that they actually have supported this site a lot more than they have for there own game. (In the very beggining 'some' MS folk browsed the forums) , Its Sad that theres not a single thing is ever mentioned publicly..let alone privately from either of the 2 party's about anything to do with MSTS..cept maybe where to buy it... My fingers are crossed in the hope that if they ever do come out with an update of sorts..That they dont end up screwing up all the hard work put in by so many... Then it'll all be start from scratch. (MS wouldnt do that would it? Havent done that ever, ever before have they ?)Just my 2 cents.. Gone of the original thread which was the Nels deserves a little give from MS and Kuju for what i have found to be the best MSTS site around....Thanks Nels...Catchya's Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I think no one can object to the fact that both the Flight Simulator series and Train Sim LIVE from their very expandability. If we could only fly/drive a few default planes/locomotives, you bet I would have cast both FS 2002 and Train Sim aside long ago. MS and, in the case of Train Sim, Kuju explicitly designed FS and TS to be expandable by third-party "hobby" programmers. So I must agree in saying I'm a bit disappointed that they do not appear to be trying to get in touch with fans of their products.
Look at IL-2 Sturmovik by 1C Maddox Games (published by Ubisoft). Oleg Maddox and his companions make heard of themselves quite regularly on the boards, and I fully believe in their words that they try to take care of as many issues brought forward by us players as possible. They even did admit to IL-2 having a few bugs left, and delivered the first patch after...how much was it, maybe four or five weeks after the game had hit the shelves?
I have no problem when there is a bug in a software programme, so long as the producers ADMIT to the flaws and take measures to fix them. I have no intention to launch yet another tirade against MS or any other software maker here, even though certainly not everything they do feels "right" to me. I merely agree that the makers of a game as popular and grundbreaking as Train Sim should at least attempt to remain closer in touch with their customers.
I cannot say that (paraphrased) TS were "a buggy piece of s**t" either. It does have its shortcomings - why doesn't it support different gauges, and why doesn't it have the superb real-weather-capable environmental interface from FS? - , but what errors I did encounter while playing TS so far could always be attributed to my having done something wrong - forgetting to rename a file appropriately, forgetting to copy a certain file into a certain directory. TS runs amazingly smooth on my system until now, and I hope it'll stay this way.'Nuff said! This game can only get better!!!Best,D.M."Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

See what others jerks said on the other site:flightsim.com
Train-sim.com is very peaceful with nice people, but hte other site became crap after FS2002 was released...
It was moved to Archive section because it got out of control.

I found this piece saying it all:"If this website was on the microsoft payroll, it wouldn't have all the great commentary. You would have MS in here trying to define what files were allowed"I feel every one has a right to an opinion, Once you have posted on the public forum, you have to take the jerks in your stride.
