Dec-24-01, 05:46 PM (EST) 1. "RE: This was funny, see what banner said to me at http://www.uktrainsim.com" That's been one of my pet peeves since the first days of the internet. In the days of bulletin board systems you had a choice between plain text or colored text, no graphics at all. Along comes the ability to display pictures, and these goofy web page designers gotta go over the top and assume everybody;
(A) Has a cable or DSL modem with a P4, and
(B) Will be so enthralled with the art and animation that they won't mind having to download and install the latest shockwave/Javascript/whatever drivers, and then wait 10 minutes for each page to load. The very first thing I did to Windows 3.1 was figure out how to disable that stupid "TADA!" wave, and these geeks just keep getting worse every year with their useless system hogging garbage.
