Hi all, The only thing the bat. file copies is the Env. folder from the Template & the terrain.ace from the Template Terrtex/Snow folder.Look in your terrtex folder/snow, if you have this file then it was included in the down load, the same with the Env folder. My Computer specs are in my profile

RE: Illinois Eastern - no installme.batch file?

Yes I know that type of file. I've downloaded many files that are
faulty. I mean it's amazing even the smallest things like good instructions on how to properly install a downloaded file, seem to be over looked. I suppose that the instructions of one kind or another that are not included with the paticular file are assumed to
be know to the downloader. After all we all have many years of experience doing this so why put something like that in the file?
I remember seeing a post is 04 about the shrinking fan base of train simming. I'll tell you why. If you new to train sims and you've just downloaded a file and it's defective like so many are or the installation instructions are incomplete you going to give up. I mean who want to spend the time downloading 10 different file only to have say 1 work. Come on guys suck it up. Be a little more professional. Whistlestop

Coming from someone who has just signed up and this is your first post, I think YOU are the one who could stand to be a little more professional. John has been around for quite a while, and is a respected contributor to this sim....we all overlook occasional things, and I think his quick response to the problem shows HIS professionalism. It's your kind of attitude that will keep people from enjoying this hobby; not John's lack of professionalism. Let's think before we speak! 'nuff said.

Here is a message from me, the route builder.
Whistlestop, when you make a route, you make it perfect, ok? When you make reskins, make routes, make acitivities, and upload them all without a hitch, then you may flame us (not me, us as the people who put in countless hours to make something for people like you who take it for granted, then when something goes wrong, instead of asking for help, you harass and ciriticize us and our work). The readme was very well explained. I checked the file I uploaded last night and it had the installme in it. You can not be so quick to blame others for things that may not be their fault. I was not on the comp today cus i was out or this would have been resolved earlier.
I am sorry for this inconvenience but it has been resolved (thanks john) and I hope many of you can enjoy the route...Over 150 downloads today is promising!Regards,
Kevin V.

I do not currently have MSTS installed, but I do remember having these errors on one route before. There is a folder missing in this route's directory. There was no need for any files in the directory, but the directory(or folder) needed to be added to get the route to load. Compare this route's directory structure with any other one that is working and you should see a folder in the working routes that this one does not have.Bill

RE: Illinois Eastern - a nice route!

The route is a good one!A funny thing I noticed when driving north, which I have never seen before:on several of the level crossings, a car was trapped inside the gates (between the track and the gate)!!! I felt sorry for the driver!By the way, it was a bit tricky to find the Scale Rail files!

RE: Illinois Eastern - a nice route!

Unfortunately, when the track crosses a road at an angle greater than about 20 degrees and the crossing is being timed realistically, cars do sometimes get trapped. It happens all the time on my Illinois Northern in the town of Beloit.
I had adjusted some of the crossings and while on occasion the cars did still get caught, it was much better than about a week before I released as I could not run without hitting a car!
Glad you all like the route so much.Kevin V.
