Thank You "Ron Furto" for the SD40-2 sounds. They are one of the best I have heard and they are FREE. Thank You.

RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

I agree--these sounds are outstanding. I added MLT's inweld, weld, and blow-down to the *.sms files and now have the perfect 645. Thanks Ron.Brad

RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

Yep, I also want to extend my thanks for his work. His EMD 567 sounds really brought my F7's to life. They really sound what I remember them sounding like when I was a kid. The SD-40's are rolling on my tracks again too. Thanks Ron!

RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

I've gotta agree, bro. I installed the sound file in my trusty UP SD40-2, took a tonnage train up the eastbound grade out of Belle Plaine on the Clinton Sub, and "opened the window"...it blew me away. Nice job.Uncle E

All I can say is that I am jumping up and down for joy, its the most amazing SD40-2's sound ever heard, looks like I'm gonna alias this to my KHP2 SD40-2 and SD40-2F locomotives. RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

I've got about 15 to 20 different SD40-2, SD45 and such. Most of them are alliased to the GP38 and SD45 Sounds. How or whats the easiest way to change the sounds in them to this new SD40-2 Sound Pack?

RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

I have to agree, they are very good. CB found errors in the sms files. Just typos, sound is spelled with "m" instead of "n" and a path for GP38 is missing the "../../" on one line.@Ed: If you have the sounds in the default SD402 folder change the sound lines in your .eng files to:Sound ( "..\\..\\SD402\\Sound\\sd402eng.sms" )
&
Sound ( "..\\..\\SD402\\Sound\\sd402cab.sms" )John

RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

Hey John, Just being stupid here, but where exactly did you find that typo in the sms files that is resulting in the Conbuilder error? I'm getting the same error, but can't see where to correct it.

RE: Awesome SD40-2 Sounds

Use the Find feature of WordPad.Open one of the files with WordPad.Click the Find button on the toolbar. In the "Find What" field, type groumd then "Find Next".
When it appears at that spot, correct the spelling. You can continue on in case there are more than one.Click the Find button again. In the "Find What" field, type gp38 then "Find Next".
This will take you to ALL the lines that have it. Look for the one with the missing ../../ before it, and correct it. You can continue on this way looking for all the problems. When you have found and corrected all the problems, save the file.WordPad is great. I use it heavily for finding and fixing bracket problems.Ted
