I had to uninstall MSTS due to an "error in the train database file" and create a NEW folder per Microsoft instructions in order to place the new reinstalled MSTS into it.Here is my question, the new folder is called TrainSim, however there is another folder that appeared called TrainSimulator, the Train and Consist folders in it appear to be empty,so, can I delete the folder so as to avoid accidentally place new trains into it? Thanks
After uninstalling MSTS you must DELETE the "Train Simulator" folder or RENAME it in case you want to use some of it's good and working Add-On Routes and Rolling Stock still in it's folders. Then you INSTALL MSTS where it is supposed to go, check all the default routes work and then start copying part of the old MSTS into the new one, testing MSTS still works after each one.Having found the villain that way, delete it's folders.O t t o
I hate to tell you this. An error in the train database file usually means that a CONSIST is calling for an ENG or WAG that you do not have. It does not mean there is something wrong with MSTS itself. I suggest you get Route Control lite, which is avail here or at www.howintheworld.com/routecontrol. It checks for missing Consists, Engines and Wagons. Hope everything works out. Learning all the in's and out's of MSTS is a Long Learning Process. Good luck. John
