Brad and Marc have been talking about Train Simulations and 3D-Trains and Stuff yesterday:http://www.letstalktrains.us/showlist.aspCould do with more of the same in the Games and Sims Media in general to revive the flagging interest in MSTS. Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere for quite some time now ! How about writing to the Editors of periodicals, reminding them of the existence of MSTS and pointing out the huge range of FREE Add-Ons available not many MSTS users are aware of, quoting a number of major Train-Sim Web sites ? I did similar years ago for PIEngineering's programmable X-Keys pads I used for MS-FS and got it published in 3 Flight Sim magazines, pictures included. Got them a few sales as a result ! O t t o
Otto, Every chance I get I try to remind our friends in the publishing industry that we are still out here, apparently thriving despite Microsofts best efforts. I send them info on the new sims being created, the routes and the add-ons as well as interesting web sites.I'm really sure that the major model railroading publishers see little if any interest in train simming. The few articles they have carried sparked hardly any response whatsoever, even from our own ranks.Either our folks don't read, or they aren't vocal enough about their interest (sure are vocal about a lot of other things) I have noticed there are now at least two E-Zines on train simming, but I have no idea of their circulation or audience.Frank MusickMoving America into the 19th Century! www.kelticsylk.com
Richard Hamilton said that this show generated three times the normal audience, and I'll bet if we got the word out sooner, there would have been a great deal more listeners. He's interested in doing this again, possibly just after the first of the year. Cheers! Marc - 3DTrains http://www.3dtrains.comPro Series v4.0 SuperPacks
Perhaps after this, M$ might smell the chance to make some easy money and shrink-wrap more Retail Packs of MSTS 1.2 ?Take Care, Marc and keep beating the MSTS drum ! Cheers, O t t o
