When attempting to unpack the 17 activities in the pack I get a message that says: "The installed track data base for this route is version 515, the activity was built on version 520. Continue?"What does this mean? Is this a warning or an error? If an error, is it fatal? What ca/should I do?jmmurphy@washingtonnc.com
That is just (hopefully) an advisory warning. MSTS generates them whenever there are diffences, however slight. Chances are that the activity-builder tweaked some items on their version of the route after it was released.I think your best bet would be to unpack one of the activities, then run it to see if any errors or problems occur. If not, then you should be good to go on the rest of them. This assumes, of course, that you have the latest version of the route installed.Henry
Just answer ok to the message and you should have no problems, I have never had an issue with the tdb version warning. And, I have unpacked dozens of activities with this message. However, I do run Route Control whenever I install a new activity to be sure that all the required rolling stock, consists, etc are present.Ken
If you have all the downloads, the flfunpack will work fine. Unfortunately, some of the downloads for this 2+ year old activity pack were at the A-Line site which no longer exists. Since the activities in this pack were designed on a computer sitting about five feet to my right at this very moment, I should be able to provide zipped versions of the needed locos for you or anyone else who needs them, if you have missing downloads AND if your mailbox will hold 1.5-2 mb zipped files. I have sent one engine recently to a Funnel user who was looking for an unavailable loco (the summer 2001 version of DASH9CSX from 3DTS, possibly the ugliest CSX engine ever skinned for MSTS, because it was of necessity based on the Kuju version).
One more thing...the uploaded Funnel had some signal scripts that didn't work very well for speed limits at Folkston and Callahan turnouts. I have improved sigscr and sigcfg files for the Funnel in a small zipped package which I have posted here several times, most recently in response #1 in this thread: http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/25381.html Just download, unzip and copy the .dat files to your Funnel directory, overwriting the files that are there. While you're there, rename the Funnel directory to US3, if you haven't done that already, which will facilitate sharing activities for the Funnel.
If you could send me the missing files from the old SCL-ALINE site I would really appreciate it. No problems with capacity on my e-mail box. Thanks, Johnjmmurphy@washingtonnc.com
