I had to reload MSTS and I made a backup of my routes, trainset and consist folders. When I copied all files back to the MSTS folders they appeared in explorer as there. However, MSTS stops at the end of the S trains and soes not see any more. Con builder is the same.Any suggestions as I hate to think of redownloading and installing the missing engines and cars.UP Fanatic
Just to re-interate on what Eric said.If you have stuff in folders below an item such as:trains\trainset\dash9\dash9anything under the second dash9 will not be seen by conbuilder or the SIm.
>I can see all cars, UP and Others. I cant see then engine >files. This is perplexing. Wonder what ate my engines? LOL > >Thanks for the help Improper use of Train Store can cause this problem.
Eric, Thanks for the response. All files are in proper location, no duplicate foilders or file names. I can view all shapes files with sviewer. MSTS, Route writer and con builder do not see the files starting with T onward through Z. I am going to reinstall Conbuilder to see if that helps. If not, I am certain it is a registry issue and will need someone to walk me through editing this entry. THanks,Traveric
When you re-installed MSTS did you make a backup of your Trains folder. There have been reports that a re-install of MSTS will sometimes delete .eng and .wag files.Anyway do a search of you system for .wag and .eng files and see if they are in another location.Regards,Eric
Traveric,E-mail me at conb200@cox.net and I will send you a batch file that will collect the info into a text file. Also you can run Conbuilder in debug mode to see where it stops reading.Lastly, you are using v227 or later aren't you?One other thing, in conbuilder, click on the file menu and choose allocated, it will then give you three options to build files that will show what it sees, and then you can use the list to find engs that are giving problems. And lastly, we have our own conbuilder forum at: http://www.conbuilder.3dtrains.com
Thanks all for the help. I did not have the wag or eng files in the engines that MSTS could not see. I reloaded them and all is fine now. The funny twists and turns of MSTS keep you on your toes. Again, thanks for the help Traveric
