I just downloaded the F1 Transit NYC Subway route. According to the instructions, I need a file called cycktrck2.zip (MSTS Cycworks Track Pack 2.0). I cannot find this file in the library. Does anyone know where this is and how I can download it?Edit: Found what I was looking for. The file is cyktrck2.zip. There is a typo in the instructions.Thank-you,

RE: Problems installing F1 Transit NYC Subway route

I ran the route through RouteRiter, as I do with all new routes, and only came up with one missing file- 'kuppl.ace'. Can't find it in any other of the routes I have.Mike

RE: I Think I'm Lost

Sorry about the typos in the readmeinstall file. Corrected the file today for future downloads. Thanks also for the note on the missing ace file and for making it available. Another error on my part. It's an ace file for a car that's probably not showing up in the car spawner. Doesn't affect train performance. Something to fix for version 1.1.

Kudos

Just wanted to tell you that this is a very nice route. It worked out of the box and installed properly. RR found the missing ACE file which you supplied. I ran 3 of the 4 activities and find it fun. I am a non-New Yorker, but one who has been there and on the subway. We need more activities for this one!Jon

RE: I Think I'm Lost

Thanks for all the positive comments. The platforms are courtesy of Chicago Elevated and U79. They gave their permission for us to use their platforms and to repaint all the signs. We are just getting into object design. The next phase to create NYC tunnels and subway stations. The attached shot is a very early attempt at it.

RE: I Think I'm Lost

This is one of my best routes! So very well done, the people on the platforms, the underground scenes, the el, and so on. Great!! Question, I'm not able to see the 3rd rail, I did download the needed track file, really no big deal, not like the trains need the 600 volts to run!Mike

RE: I Think I'm Lost

Yes. Those are what the tunnels actually look like. (The RE design shot.)But! On the next version, couldn't you put South Ferry in the south? And maybe the Broadway line on the west, and the Lex line on the east?I know this is a "freelance" route, and I certainly appreciate that. But it's really a kind of crossover between freelance and prototypical. With all the real station names and all. Couldn't you make the two lines separate (like they are in real life, with only a shuttle connecting them between Grand Central and Times Square)? In point of fact, the shuttle tracks used to be part of the main line, and they still connect at both ends.Forgive me. It's really a great route. I surely enjoy traveling on my very own subways with this route. Maybe I'm just too close to the subject matter.Thank you for a very nice route!Jeff

RE: I Think I'm Lost

To answer your question, Jeff. Yes. The plan is to do what your proposing, but it's not even started yet. I've downloaded all the NYC track schematics in anticipation. John is beginning the object design and I am even exploring a collaborative effort with another route designer on this. Making it prototypical will mean a much bigger route, more stations all from scratch yadayadayada. There's nothing else out there in MSTS to build on. Seems like all the New York designers are into the BVE Sim. The F1 route was just an attempt to get an idea of the NYC system by freelancing because of the lack of available routes. I sat down one day and worked from memory and just ended up mixing up the Broadway Line with the Pelham Bay Line with the Lex and when it got big enough decided to stop, put scenery and interactive stuff in and make it available.Anyway, thanks for your interest. Maybe there's someone else out there putting together a New York route.

RE: I Think I'm Lost

I'm only a infrequent straphanger as a tourist, but I'd like to add my thanks as well. Ever since Island Electric's subways hit the File Library, I have been looking for a prototypical place to run them. This sure beats the heck out of using the D.C. Metro tracks! Thanks for a great route! I look forward to your future updates.Henry

RE: Problems installing F1 Transit; need A1t45mStrt.s

I have installed the F1 route, and have all the addtional files specified in the Read Me. At the start up of the route, I get an error message that says I am missing <A1t45mStrt.s>. If I click on "continue" several times, I can start an actvity but after it is underway, I get the same error message and the video freezes. I have searched my hard drive (which includes 18 MSTS routes) and do not have this file. I would really appreciate it if someone can supply it; I probably also need <A1t45mStrt.sd>.John DeLamater

RE: Problems installing F1 Transit; need A1t45mStrt.s

Let me know your e-mail address and I'll send you the file. Someone else was missing the buffer track piece and got the route running once the missing file was installed. How is it that some folks are missing track pieces. You must have xtracks installed because I know I used more track pieces from xtracks than the 45 piece and you're only missing that one piece.Regarding the question about the third rail, if you look at mrmikes screenshots in the screenshot forum, it looks like he has the track textures which show a third rail. Maybe he can tell us what he is using and which which texture it replaces. I think it would have to go in the USA6 Textures Folder.
