Ahahahahaha! >=D/JonatanSteam rules! Train gifs from Dans Railroad Gif RoundhouseNever trust computers. If you do, they will betray you.I'm the steam freak, ph34r me!!

What's with the "Loser" reference in your subject line? I'm sure that you aren't refering to anyone in particular (such as the originator of this poll/thread) with such a term. Just curious.CB
Shinkansen 0, 100, and 700 are missed far more than any North American stock. If we must keep it on the continent, I'd say Turbo and LRC.And more steam!Rob.
One word, three letters. L-R-C! A HR616 would be good too. Other than that (keeping to the list) a BNSF SD39-Slug set or any R/R SD35 or SDP35.-Andy the LRC lover EMD all the way!!
10 WHEELED STEAM, 2-10-4 B&LE Texas's, PRR J1's, C&O T-1's, etc. I've got recently taken cabview and other pics of a 2-10-4 Texas that are itching to be put into the MSTS. But then again I dont want to be greedy , all I can do it repaint. But there really arent many big 10-wheelers in the File Library.

I'm with you on this Doug!I looked at the list in the poll in disbelief!Don't get me wrong there's always room for improvement in models and there's thousands of loco' been built since the dawn of railways. It's just that when you look at the amazing gaps in the US catalogue I can't help feel that, with the possible exception of the U25, these are variations on a theme.I've posted on these forums before about lack of models and variety from the Streamliners era. No offence to the model makers but the Alco Cab Bodies are not up to the 1024 texture standards of Danny's recent MLT loco packs. The GG1, an excellent model for it's day could use a makeover and while they're at it there were a whole family of streamlined Electrics that haven't been modelled. As for steam (kettles - as we call them) just look at the standard of the never released TA models for M$T$2! Then there's passenger coach stock. TA's & GB's streamliners with the passenger views are leagues ahead of most other US coaches. If you look at the amazing catalogue of stunning box cars available the coaches look rather simplistic and few have passenger views. I guess we're lucky in the UK. It's a small country with a lot of people. Nowhere is more than a days drive from anywhere else. It's probably why we have so many railway preservation lines and museums. Even with the regional history of our railways most people (non railfans that is) would be aware of the various companies that ran trains in each region as they were, until the 60's, how most people travelled around. Rail news and achievment was "National" News. Everyone who travelled any distance would use a number of routes and companies or regions. Equally it would be quite understandable that a non rail fan in say San Diego would not have heard of the Bangor & Aroostook. Face it, it ran almost as close to me here in the UK as it is to the guy in San Diego, and he'd hardly have had to use their route in any odd journey? My point is that I can appreciate that there is much more "partisan" devotion to Companies and stock that ran through specific States or regions over there. You also had a lot more individual companies before they combined into... is it four now?Maybe we're out of time Doug? For me the 30's through to the 70's, both here and in the USA were the "golden age" of Railways/roads. It's when all the best development of Steam, Diesel and Electric locos happened, rail traffic reached it's peak and both countries ran both passenger and freight. Nowadays freight is as rare in the UK as passenger trains are in the USA and vice versa! So guy's "listen up!"If you're not interested in this Limey's opinion at least listen to Doug!Geoff
I was in contact a few months ago with someone building a texas, not sure how far he's got with it...I may also be venturing into US steam early next year.

I would personally welcome some more shinkansen trains as i have travelled around japan on them. I would like to see the Series 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, and the Series 700 trains on MSTS . Also the E1 max is a nice train as well. So those of you out there that make msts trains, Could you consider to make a shinkansen as one of your future projects please ?. I really hope so . I have also included a photo of the JR700 in this post also.

How about the only 3-truck narrow gauge climax... Colorado & Northwestern #2 The FL seems plenty full of diesels these days. Another nice Narrow Gauge loco is C & NW #30, a 2-8-0 built by Brooks, and in the restoration process.Josh
