I had to reinstall MSTS along with v1.2 update after I felt some files had been corrupted. After this happened I became unable to access most of my non-default routes. The only non-default that I can access with MSTS is Kingsport. Neither ConrailIndy 2 or Marias-Kootenai is recognized. I tried the methods recomended by Cyndi Richards using batch files. At first nothing happened. Then, after I replaced the file ConrailIndy 2.trk from the original ZIP file into the correct folder, MSTS kept crashing. I also tried using the installme.bat for the Marias-Kootenai route. It still doesn't work. ConrailIndy 2 doesn't even have an installme.bat file in its ZIPed files. What do I do now?Eric in Green Bay

Re-installing MSTS over a previous install without providing it with a "clean bed" is a hit and miss deal...You mentioned that Conrail-Indy wouldnt work and that you had the same problem with Marias-Kootenai...These routes both use Newroads and XTRACKs...these are Addon applications that install new shape files in your in your MSTS Global folder after they are installed...Default MSTS routes dont use these shape files...When you un-install MSTS for whatever reason, it won't remove the nondefault files of the various addons that have been installed over the course of the previous install. These files and folders should be deleted before you attempt to re-install MSTS as they can and will cause file errors, "Send, dont send" errors etc. Conrail-Indy doesn't use an "installme" batch file because it uses mostly custom shapes and whatever default shapes that are needed for it are included in the route package....I'm no expert on this, but the above has been my experience...Hope I have helped..Good luck, Frank

RE: I CAN'T RUN MY NON-DEFAULT ROUTES!

If you do a search for reinstall or similar key words, you may find a post that goes into detail about how to do a reinstall. Basically, the primary thing is to rename your MSTS folder to something else so that your computer does not know it is the MSTS folder. Install MSTS from the CDs as a clean install. Then bring over your routes and trains folders as well as anything else you might need or have changed. Be sure to test as you bring stuff in to be sure you are not reimporting the problem files that may have been causing the problems that caused you to reinstall in the first place. I have not had to do a reinstall for several months (knock on wood), so I hope I have not forgotten any critical steps.Bryce

RE: I CAN'T RUN MY NON-DEFAULT ROUTES!

I Installed Newroads and and reinstalled XTRACKs. That did the trick. There's just some minor details to clean up now. Thanks for the info, I doubt I could have figured it out.Case Closed, Eric
