Well once again I need help. I tried to install a route and when I clicked on the install.bat file it did nothing and then the file size suddenly changed . When i tried to explore the file looks it is all encripted except for one line ---- " this program cannot run in dos mode" . Is there an easy fix for this ?? --- Thanks for any help in advance BRIAN
Hi Brian !Which Route ?The file you must run to complete an Add-On Route's installation is the Installme.bat in it's ROUTES folder, which can be opened with NOTEPAD or WORDPAD to read it's contents.O t t o
Hi Otto well it is in any route i try to install . I tried 3 routes last night , all the same result --- after installation in routes folder when i press the install.bat file -- size of install file changes and wont run . Before clicking on install file i can open it in wordpad and see contents just fine --- after clicking on install file and size changes --whole file looks encrypted when i try to explore file .BRIAN
It looks like you're gonna have to unzip the batch file again, of course. This time, try opening a command window in the route folder and running the batch file from there, rather than double clicking on it in the GUI.
Hi Brian !Have you by any chance SR-2 installed or have other programs loaded and running in the background ?Try changing the .bat extension to .cmd O t t o
It sounds to me like you have a virus on your system.Your second screen shows an executable file (*.exe) rather than a batch file. What AV are you using?
Thanks for your help Otto and Derick --- Otto's changing from .bat to .cmd worked and i am also running a full virus check now -- You both are life savers and i dont mean the candy --lol
