Use Kosmos in our File Library. It's a much better program. It will use Sky Conductor files also. There are many add-ons for Kosmos. My Computer specs are in my profile

RE: Sky Conductor

Mike,Whenever you add a route, you then also have to run Sky Conductor itself and set the sun-rain-snow options. After that, the route will display the sky environments you set.PaulSPrevious Topic | Next Topic – image 3

What route in particular? If it has it's own sky textures (I think Cascade Crossings is like this) it may not support Sky Conductor. Check the TRK file for that route and see what the it has for it's environments. Here is the one from Cajon and this route supports Sky Conductor:Environment (
SpringClear ( sun.env )
SpringRain ( rain.env )
SpringSnow ( snow.env )
SummerClear ( sun.env )
SummerRain ( rain.env )
SummerSnow ( snow.env )
AutumnClear ( sun.env )
AutumnRain ( rain.env )
AutumnSnow ( snow.env )
WinterClear ( sun.env )
WinterRain ( rain.env )
WinterSnow ( snow.env )
)If the route in question does not have these entries, ie. sun, rain, and snow, change the existing entries to look like this one and Sky Conductor will then work. Of course, you must also run Sky Conductor again to select the skies you want for sun, rain, and snow each time you install a new route.Hope this helps.

RE: Sky Conductor

Gintlemen, gintlemen, gintelmen please!Jak Fearon, the creator of Sky Conductor is a clever chap, and has taken the trouble to provide 3 self-installing executables that will automatically install themselves into Kosmos; therefore, no thinking or intelligence is required.Mike

RE: Sky Conductor

Mike & Mike--Maybe Mike (Trainmann) is just satisfied with Sky Conductor and doesn't want Kosmos? That's the way I feel about it. I've tried Kosmos twice and uninstalled it twice, Just don't care for it for various reasons and am perfectly satisfied with Sky Conductor. Why should he or I have to put up with the additional baggage of Kosmos if all we want is Sky Conductor's environments?PaulSPrevious Topic | Next Topic – image 6

YupSame for me. Once I got SC working properly(after adding a route to SC, THEN always starting SC and selecting a type of cloud to initialize all the new route's folders)I'm happy too.
Edit: I have SC on all my routes except a few that have their OWN special weather: Albula Line, SeaView

Mike, nothing at all against Kosmos, but I just don't like having to go through and do 15 different setups for a route times 50 routes .. would much rather push 3 or 4 buttons and have them done. However, I can't get SC to run either, so not left with much choice.RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

RE: Sky Conductor

Robert,If you reinstalled it and are now having problems, do you remember a few years back there was a problem some people had with JAVA, which Sky Conductor needs to run? Jack posted some sort of fix--can't remember exactly what. You might try searching his website or the file library here for a Sky Conductor-Java patch, though. While I'm at it I wanted to tell you that a few days ago I downloaded the ADFRR. Wow! What have I been missing! Right up there now with my other favorites, Ohio Rails and the PO&N. Greatest thing since cornbread and breaded fried okra (to h..l with the sliced bread comparison). Many, many thanks.PaulSPrevious Topic | Next Topic – image 8

Paul, many thanks for the advice and kudos. btw, couldn't agree more about the sliced bread, since that cornbread and breaded fried okra is right up my line I have tried the patch, but think my installation must have another problem file somewhere like the problem installing dotnet. However am still working on it RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com
