I do believe that this may be the first time I've started a new thread in all the time I've been here. But lately common problems that have been asked about on this forum have been on my mind. One is the question of missing consists and services. There is an old, but perfectly good program that handles these easily--Jack Fearon's Route Control Lite. It only takes care of a few selected problems, but it does so quickly and, more important to my way of thinking, without requiring any effort or thought on the user's part.I think it's really a shame that this excellent program has been forgotten and ignored. Certainly, Route Riter and ConBuilder are indispensible additions to our toolkits--not to mention programs like EngMod, Shape Viewer, etc. But I really think Route COntrol Lite is too.I'm convinced that, if every time anyone downloaded a new route, they first ran a) Route Control Lite, b) Route Riter's Check Route routine and c) ConBuilder's checking routines, over 90% of the confusion and problems posted here would be eliminated. At any rate, any newbies who never heard of it should add Route Control Lite to their bag of tricks, either in the File Library or see:http://www.howintheworld.com/routecontrol.shtmlPS--No, I'm not Jack's brother-in-law or nephew. I just don't believe in reinventing the wheel, or fire.PaulS

Got to agree. I use RC all the time for checking activities. Produces a clean, easy to read report of what's missing and even tells you if the .eng or .wag file you need is in a different folder. I also use RouteRiter, EngMod and ConBuilder, but for checking activities RC is the best IMHO.Ken
Activity Analysis will not only find the eng or wag file that is in a different folder it will, if you choose, automatically edit the activity and consist files so that the activity can use them. It also saves a back up so that all changes it makes are reversible.Regards,Eric
