Hi Gerry,When you install RR, the Read-me file tells you to make sure that both the Aceit installer and TGATools2a installer point to the Route-Riter folder. They default to somewhere else. Sorry about that, but I have permission to include those two programs with RR as long as the files are unchanged.Just find where they are, and then copy the Aceit.exe and TGATools2a.exe into the main Route-Riter folder and all should be OK.Mike

RE: New Route Riter

Hi,Installed the latest version tonight. Seems much faster. One thing I noticed. I tried copying objects from one route to another. It copies the shape files but not the texture (Ace)files. It'll tell you what the associated ace file is so I can copy it using explorer but doesn't copy it over to the target route as the older version of RR did. Did I do something wrong?

RE: New Route Riter

Hi FBP,Yes, it should copy the .ace file, the .s/.sd files and update the .ref file. I will check again, but I actually used it myself this week, and it was OK for me.Mike

RE: New Route Riter

Hi Mike,I tried again. It copies the s and sd files as well as the Reference File, if there is one, but still not the ace files. Maybe I should try a reinstall if I'm the only one who's noticing this. Also, is it possible to reinstall the old version for object copying along with the new version for doing everything else? In any case, it's not a major problem.

RE: New Route Riter

Hi Migron and LongIslandMike,Which button are you having problems with in compressing .s files? And which version have you installed? It should work OK as long as the .dll is correctly installed. Does the Check Route option work OK, this uncompresses the .s files to read them and will not work if the .dll is not working.Mike

RE: New Route Riter

Mike,I have version 6.1.0.38 and I use the compress & uncompress tabs from within the 'MSTS File Util' section plus I can't check any of the routes, I get an error message: "Run-time error '429': Active X component can't create object" I don't have any problems with ver5. Thanks.Mike

RE: New Route Riter

HI MikeThis is probably caused by your not having Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 installed.Following is a response I sent to someone else recently with the same problem, it fixed his, so hopefully will fix yours:- This is caused when the .dll required to compress/uncompress files is not installed properly. Make sure that you have Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 installed (go Control Panel/Add Remove programs to see if it is listed). Make sure that TK.MSTS.Tokens.dll and .tlb are both in the Route-Riter folder along with regasm.exe and InitTokens.bat Click on InitTokens.bat – this should take up to 5 mins to uninstall the old tokens, Then hit any key and it will install the new ones. This should then tell you the tokens are installed, after which RR should run OK. By the way, there is a new RR .exe on my site which you should probably download first before carrying out the above check. See http://members.optusnet.com.au/virtualtrains/beta6.html
